colorfulstorm Posted September 25, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2013 I just saw this on John Heald's page. If I am reading it correctly there will be no more comedians during brunch, the hours will change and there will be some new menu items. He also mentioned that they are working on dining room menu changes. See below for part of the post. "Starting in October the ship’s that have the Brunch will open their doors from 8:30am – 1:30pm. The comedy portion is gone but that fantastic menu with a mixture of brilliant breakfast items and the luscious lunch choices will entice you for you sure……………………the mini Yorkshire puddings they serve from the bread basket are very Moorish indeed. There are going to be new items added including Hey Pork Chops and a pasta dish called Pappardelle “ Principe di Napoli” both doing battle with the steak and eggs and all the other favorites." "Our Culinary Team led by my friend Cyrus are working very hard on new menu items for the dining room dinner menus and much more and I will let you know more about these brilliant changes as and when I can." jimboridesmtb Posted September 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Doesn't hurt my feelings at all. The comedians only spent a few minutes there anyway.
yogimax Posted September 25, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Comedy during brunch was a dumb idea to begin with. Whoever thought of it should have been fired!
pbmsmile Posted September 25, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Let's be honest...there wasn't really any "comedy" going on during brunch anyway. It was canned laughter and limp jokes...will anyone really miss the noise??
lele100 Posted September 25, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Yes I read that. He also gives a schedule of other ships which currently do not have the brunch but will be getting it soon Sent from my HTCONE using Forums mobile app

42CruiseCrazy Posted September 25, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 25, 2013 i went to brunch once and there was no comedy. this was in june. Maybe i went at a bad time, but i didnt miss anything :( Yes you did!!! You missed an annoying distraction from an otherwise pleasant mid-morning meal. The comedy on board the ship was great when it was in the aft lounge but in the MDR it did not work at all.
kruisecat Posted September 25, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 25, 2013 What day is brunch served? We will be on Legend in November and understand that brunch will now be served on that ship and I was just wondering if it is both sea days or just one? Thanks!! MissCruiseAddict Posted September 25, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 25, 2013 As long as they don't get rid of that salad with the steak strips in it. Mmmm tasty.

GlendaleCruiser Posted September 25, 2013 #15 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Did you all like the menu on the brunch? I didn't care for it. It seemed like they were trying too hard. I went in wanting French Toast. Regular............good.........French Toast. I kept looking for something normal but it all seemed WAY OVER THE TOP. They brought me this godawful concoction made from Texas Toast (HUGE THICK pieces of bread) dipped in egg and then rolled in some kind of cereal. I ate about 3 bites, hated it and left. gusandgidgetsmom Posted September 25, 2013 #16 Share Posted September 25, 2013 A great idea--the getting rid of anyway--not the original idea. comedy was awful and in June the comedian told the same stupid jokes two day s in a row. Love the brunch tho and glad they are making it earlier.
Rare sparks1093 Posted September 25, 2013 #17 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Live a little, try some brunch. LOL! I am sure that there are some that loved the whole thing and they will be along shortly to complain about the cutbacks CCL is making to save money.;)
Tantra1 Posted September 25, 2013 #18 Share Posted September 25, 2013 I just want to eat breakfast at breakfast time and lunch at lunch time. I have never had brunch in my life. You're in luck. Go during breakfast time and then again at lunch time. And you can also go inbetween to try out brunch for the first time. ;) We enjoy the menu. I especially like the steak and eggs. The nice thing about the cruise is that if you don't like something you ordered there is always a second chance for something new or the buffet. Cheers! ready2cruzagain Posted September 25, 2013 #20 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Good news to me! Hated that on the Breeze they did not even start serving until 9:30am and it was too late for Breakfast. 8:30am is still too late for breakfast for me but hoping the menu will be better for lunch. The new items sound good.
winddawn Posted September 25, 2013 #21 Share Posted September 25, 2013 When you read comments like these showing that Carnival wasted money on something that most don't care for, and then you see that Carnival cut things that are popular (like Calypso music on Lido), it really makes you wonder how Carnival can be so out of touch with their customers. I agree with you.. I love a good brunch but the menu on CCL is terrible.. FYI I was on the Fascination in July and on sea days they had brunch in one dining room and regular breakfast and lunch in the other... You can then choose what you prefer and still get served.. Cruizinman Posted September 25, 2013 #23 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Carnival is stopping the funny stuff. Every now and then they did have a funny comedian . One lady burst out laughing with a mouth full of eggs and grits. . Needless to say her table mates were not to fond of eggs and grits .;)

Was just on the Magic, they offer that "funny French toast" plain also. It's was actually one of my favorite items of the cruise. A table mate got theirs rolled in the cereal, it looked awful and he hardly ate any. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
trixiegal Posted September 25, 2013 #25 Share Posted September 25, 2013 I felt bad for the comedians forced into a sales pitch while people are trying to eat. So awkward. One seemed hungover. The French Toast was terrible. Attaching Cheerios to it is not appetizing. Hope they remove that item but we enjoyed everything else.
