3shar Posted September 25, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Hi ..We are looking at the Getaway for July next year. We are torn between adjoining family balcony state rooms or splurging on the The Haven 2 BR villa. Can anyone tell me what extras are included in The Haven. I emailed NCL and they just send me the link that you see online. I know you have access to private areas. What about beverages in room etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated..... Paphillyguy Posted September 25, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Honestly if you can afford it go with the Haven. On a ship this size in the middle of summer the boat will be crowded. The Haven is excellent. The butler is great but what did it for me was the Haven restaurant because there never was a wait and the sun deck was never crowded and you are treated so well. Also, I found your get better seating in the specialty restaurants and the selected reserved seating is nice at the shows because you don't have to get there extra early. We just sailed the Breakaway in July in two connecting BA balcony rooms (5 people in total). We LOVED the Breakaway. I usually just lounge around on cruises but I was very busy on the Breakaway and loved it. Anyway, there were two days that my dh and I decided to lay out in the sun. One day, we (actually it was my mom and I) found spots early in H2O and stayed there most of the day. The second day my dh and I looked for loungers, it was VERY difficult to find anything but we also had friends on the cruise that got up at sunrise and were chair hogs so they saw us and gave us two loungers (THEY are the hoggers, not I and I wasn't aware they even did this). Anyway, we of course took the loungers (no space in H2O) but it was very, very crowded. Since we loved the Breakaway so much, we did, indeed book the Getaway for next August but we decided we wanted to be in the Haven (S4-two bedroom) and not have to deal with crowds. We are 5 people and although it will be a little cramped when we are all in the cabin at once, I am very confident we will have a much different and even better experience. I closely watched the Haven reviews on the Breakaway and during the summer, there was no mention of not finding loungers, not beging able to make ressies in the speciality restaurants, etc. I also got to Rock of Ages about 45 minutes early and saved 10 seats, which was a total PITA. This time, although it will only be 5 of us, we will have reserved seating and will not have to worry about making sure we are all together. We also wanted to be right in the Haven, on deck 16, which I am really looking forward to trying! Let us know what you decide.
