Live from the Sunshine in the Med

Just wanted to give another update....this cruise has been absolutely incredible. Even though this is our second time here in the Med in two years, words cannot describe how amazing these ports of call are. As far as the ship is concerned:

Buckets in the hallway - we are on deck 7...there are a few catching drips from the ceiling (like 2 or 3). However nothing that would affect our thoughts on the ship or ruin our cruise

Today is our only sea day - we sailed full, and even with the additional cabins, there is absolutely no feeling of areas being crowded. Lunch was a breeze on Lido, and they have traffic flow in Lido marketplace done very well as you don't have to wait for anything. Getting on and off the ship for excursions is also handled very well

Would we sail this ship again - in a heartbeat....I know that there are some out there who are complaining that this is not a new ship, etc....well at the end of the day, it is NOT the Destiny. For all intensive purposes, this is a new ship, and the stuff that they have added has been great. You have to try JiJi, as well as Cucina del Capitano. We have only eaten in the MDR like once as the other options are so good.

If you have any questions, please ask and I will answer when I can.

Ryno9065 - never felt crowded in 8 days so far of sailing. Everything works like a machine on this ship. The Lido Marketplace looks like it is really designed to keep the flow of people moving, and they do a good job. Finding tables is not difficult either. We spent most of our time in the back at the Havannah bar area to sit and eat lunch. Hardly anyone used this area....maybe they just haven't discovered it yet. This is also where the stir fry and pasta bar are which then transform to JiJi and Cucina del Capitano in the evening.

Glad you are enjoying the ship......I just paid of our BC7 Sunshine cruise about 15 minutes ago.....just sad they will not be having FTTF. We'll both be Diamond by that time and I've enjoyed going straight to the cabin.

What do you think of the configuration of the Liquid Lounge? With them taking away 1 of the 3 decks to add cabins does it seem too closed in? And how do they keep the chairs all together for the production shows? It sounds like it would be a jumbled mess.

Our BC7 luggage tags still have FTTF on them and New Orleans has had FTTF for a while.

I haven't done my docs yet, but JH answered someone's question about it on FB today and said they wouldn't be selling it due to the numbers of D&P on the Bloggers cruises.

I was in NOLA on the Conquest in April and they had it then but there were only 4 Diamonds and 124 Platinums on that sailing. I'm guessing there were probably 50 people sitting in the FTTF area.

We looking into doing the previous week as a B2B like we did on the Breeze in January, but don't think we can work it into the finances. I really don't like boarding a Bloggers cruise they are really popular among the D&P's.

We have only been to the liquid lounge in the mornings as that is the gathering place for shore tours. By the time we get back from an all day excursion (they are very tiring in Europe) we are too exhausted to watch a show. We may try to catch the show tonight though...some sort of world famous pick pocket person. When we are down for shore tours, the lounge is fine....kind of weird, as I was on the Destiny exactly one year ago and I cannot notice much of a difference in the size of the lounge.

I got off the Sunshine the day you got on. I'm glad you are having such a great time!! We went to the Man of Steal show and were pleasantly surprised how entertaining it was. We thought he was one of the best of the individual performers we saw the whole cruise, so it's worth going if you aren't too tired :) Have a great rest of your time in Europe!

I am glad you are having a great trip. I am very jealous!! I do have a question for you. We are on the Sunshine in December and we are on Deck 7 also, somone posted that even with the Liquid Lounge 2 decks below they experienced a lot of noise in the cabin. Have you experienced this at all. I find it hard to believe but wanted to ask. Thanks and have a great trip!!

. In my opinion, deck 7 is the best deck. We were in 7234 (midship) on the 9/8 sailing and you heard nothing. Great cabin location.

I'll bet you still get the perk even though they aren't opening it up to the general public...

I hope you're right........it's a really nice perk.

NOLA has really improved their VIP lounge, but it's still small with only 2 agents to check people in, then the seating area is small as well.

I really struggle with when to board on a Blogger's cruise. There are generally over 500+ participants the vast majority of whom are Diamond/Platinum, so it's not at all like a regular boarding........we may just wait to board in the afternoon.
