beauty1492 Posted September 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2013 On our European cruise this month we want to book another cruise and get OBC. Guest relations said they don't do that on European cruises- we couldn't book our next cruise on board for the OBC, but we were assured when we returned home just call our rep and she could do it. After a week of back and forth email-- my rep kept saying I'm checking --is now NOT answering my e mail. We have the cruise pick out now there is a sale and we will lose early saver rate if wait too much longer. Has anyone had this experience? Seem I'm not the only one on my thread that got this answer at guest relations.
LindseyButlerWilson Posted September 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2013 I've heard from Carnival reps and from friends who've recently cruised that Carnival no longer does the OBC. If there is a sale you should probably book and get the better pricing. I've also been told by a Carnival agent (Gary Wong) that if you DO end up getting an OBC and you've already booked something it can still be applied to the new booking. He said that while they don't do the OBC's anymore, he wouldn't be surprised if they came back.

They used to sell fcc's(future cruise certificates) but the stopped. Bill

beauty1492 Posted September 28, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted September 28, 2013 Thanks for all the input. Finally got to talk to my rep and decide to go ahead and book with the sail. I mean sale. she is still trying to work something out for us. Since it is a refundable no harm in booking.
RedneckRedhead Posted September 28, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 28, 2013 We just got off the Dream last Saturday... We went ahead and booked on board to get the OBC and two vouchers for OBC for friends and family, if they book within 60 days of our booking... Our Future Cruise Planner dude (technical term right there) said they are not scheduling European cruises next year because the cost of flights is more than the cost of the cruise. So maybe that is part of the issue? I cant see why you wouldnt have been able to book a non-European cruise. We got our OBC along with the 1/2 price deposits (ends 9/30) and its all fully refundable. I've read elsewhere that if you make any changes, they require that you pay the rest of the deposit (if you havent already). Good luck to you! larkz Posted September 28, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 28, 2013 It's dumb that they can't have a future cruise desk on every ship. Do they believe in the value of this promotion or not? If it works to increase cruises, then they should employ it. If not, then they should get rid of it.
SkyMaster Posted September 28, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 28, 2013 I'm just off "Breeze", and I too booked my next one aboard, and got the OBC, as well as the certificates for friends or family who might want to join us. As mentioned above, the FCC's are no longer available, but still good if you happen to have one, as I do. I'll use the one I have left next summer. ;) "SKY"
