Mike & Tracy’s continuing adventures: B2B on Carnival Liberty & Carnival Breeze

Recommended Posts

I love your reviews! So much interesting information. I find myself simultaneously reading your review and looking at the Carnival website to find another cruise to book. Our next cruise is only a 2 night and we don't have anything booked after that. I need to change that! Thanks again for a great read!

Thank you, I'm writing this review and looking for the next one. :D

Loving your review, Mike!

We're going to enjoy the Liberty the end of November.

We've been to these ports already, but your review is very detailed and helping with ideas and reassuring some of our excursions we already have planned

I love your writing style, pictures, and detail.

I log on every day for your trip updates...

Thank you very much. :)

And are those hot tubs way down low and in front the crews' tubs?

That's Magic's crew deck and hot tubs.

Because of our late afternoon meal we skipped dinner. At 7 pm that evening we went to see ‘The outrageous physical comedy of Max Winfrey’ in the Venetian Lounge. We had seen him on our Pride cruise in 2011 and really enjoyed him. He had brought Tracy on stage as part of his act.

my favourite picture of She who must be obeyed is on our wedding day...she is giving me the same kind of look cause I was taking too much time setting up my camera on the tripod...wanted to make sure we had a photo together and did not 100% trust the guy we hired

Today’s excursion was to simply go to 7 Mile Beach. We were there, with her parents in 2010. Tracy had declared that it was her favorite beach, the sand was so silky and the water so clear.

I slept in that morning and got up to a mixture of rain and sunshine. The kids were not interested in leaving their beds. Grand Cayman is also a tender port. Another advantage of being Platinum is that you can go ahead of the line but we were not in a hurry to disembark.

Love that you finish each day with your towel animal - fun!

Your pics make me wish I had a cruise planned on the Liberty. I love that class of ships. But I have my 3rd straight Breeze cruise in November. I agree with you that it is a great ship, but I think I am ready for a change :)

We took advantage of the nearly empty ship to play the 9 hole mini golf. Tracy came out ahead after 18 holes (2 rounds).

Thanks so much for your review and all the great photos!

I noticed in photos of the aft pool area both on embarkation and again in Roatan that the dome was closed over the aft. Was it closed for the whole cruise and do you know why?

We disembarked at 12:30 pm. Since they were still calling tender numbers to get off the ship, we went to guest services. One of the crew led us to an elevator, down to deck 0, where she inserted us with a group of people, getting on a tender boat.

Once you have cruise on Breeze, to me any other Carnival ships will feel like a step down. My goal was to cruise on a different ship each time but now we are more interested in the itineraries.

Thank you.

After checking my photos it wasn't closed all the time, as for the reason why it was closed for some of the time, I don't know.

Thankfully the rain did let up and we took a chance and caught a taxi to 7 Mile Beach, more specifically ‘Royal Palm Resort’. The taxi rate was $4 per person. The entrance fee at the Royal Palm Resort was $2 each.

The water was not as clear as we remembered it. This was probably due to the weather.

The prices are in Cayman dollars. One US dollar is worth approximately .82 cents Cayman. In other words something that is priced at $10 Cayman will cost you $12.20 US.

While we were in the shopping area, near where the ship was docked, we were hit by thunder and lightning with lots of rain. We stayed in the shops until it died down and took the tender back to the ship.

Tracy had brought a glass of wine from our cabin, to the dining room. Then she ordered a Tropical Espresso and a hot cocktail. At home we drink alcohol maybe once or twice a month but when were on vacation, we like to try a variety of different drinks.

Afterward Tracy and I went to several different locations to get our photo taken. This is the one Tracy chose.
