cruisejoe90 Posted September 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2013 I noticed that a lot of MSC cruises have various start points (i.e some passengers start in Genoa, some in naples etc). Is the muster drill repeated at each port for new passenger? Do all passengers attend, or only the new arrivals?

The main muster drill is in the designated "home" port, usually Genoa and Venice for Med cruises where the main body of passengers embark. At check in you are given a personalised "Emergency Drill" card (the red one in the middle). This has to be handed in at the muster which now takes place on the lifeboat deck and you are lined up with the tallest at the back and shortest at the front. People at other ports have their own musters in their small groups and the main body of passengers are not involved again. Pete

Last week on the Armonia, the main embarkation port was Venice, so most people did the muster drill. All services were suspended for a short time while the drill took place. The next day in Ancona, some new passengers embarked (a small number). They had their own drill but all services continued for the existing passengers.
