Best Beaches Near Pier

Cozumel is a pretty small island, so its not going to take you long to get anywhere. You can catch a cab very easily at the Puerto Maya pier, and get to most nice beaches in 10-15 minutes, if not less. There are always taxis waiting to take you back to the pier whenever you like also.

We went to Chankanaab last year, and I believe it was $10/cab one way to the park & $10 back. We left for the park as soon as we could get off the ship that morning, and we were ready to head back to the pier about 1. We were able to put our stuff back on the ship, clean up & change clothes & go back out & shop for a couple of hours.

This year, we plan to take a cab to Money Bar to snorkel, eat a little, maybe go into town for shopping, or just back to the pier to shop as we did last year.

I'm sure there are some beaches you can walk to from the ship, but, so that you know you are getting the best experience you want, I would research where you want to go - asking on Cruise Critic is best, if you let people know what you are looking for, and then you have a plan when you arrive and won't be disappointed.

Cozumel is a great little island. It has MANY great places to see and lots to do.

You might get on your roll call also, and ask what your fellow ship-mates have planned in Cozumel.

What is the Closest Beach to the Puerta Maya Pier? It's hard to venture off too far with just a few hours in Cozumel.

It looks like you are in Cozumel from 9AM - 4PM.

You could go to a beach on the mainland if you wanted to...(45 minute ferry ride each way)

Any of the popular beach clubs in Cozumel are at most 15-20 minutes from Puerto Maya pier.

The beach bars on the rougher east side are still only 30-40 minutes away.

It is more about what your group is looking for in the beach day in Cozumel...

Fill us in and past cruisers could give you suggestions.
