When will flight seats come available?

We are going on the xmas/new year Ventura cruise, flying out on 21st December. I thought that we would be able to book seats on the flight 12 weeks before, but the site is still saying "unavailable".

 

By my reckoning, it is now less than 12 weeks and I would have expected the flight seats to be available to book. Any one got any ideas when they may be released? What experience have others had recently about booking flight seats?

 

Two years ago they were released bang on 12 weeks (we booked at five minutes past midnight!), but not so this year.

We have recently booked for November cruise, it was about 10 weeks before so not the usual 12 weeks that we also had last time, but we did get letter from p&o giving us the date we could book beforehand

We have had an email this am to say that seats will be available to be booked on 13th. November. Our cruise departs Barbabos on 17th. January.

We're on the same cruise flying out on 20th December. It's usual I believe to be able to book seats 12 weeks prior to the cruise but I spoke to P&O and also found an email from them which states we can book our seats from 16th October.

Not sure why they've changed their policy.

I've not had an e-mail as mitcho has, but maybe it's gone to my TA instead. My TA is rubbish and so I don't expect to get anything forwarded from them!

Thought it was just me who couldn't get on for the flights. I reckon I will still keep checking every day though as last year they popped up without warning and I don't want us to end up all over the cabin! This is only my 2nd one so from others experience is there changing of seats etc available with other passengers or does everyone stick rigidly to the ones they have booked? I appreciate if you have bagged the exit seats you won't move but what about the others? Thanks

We are going on Ventura on 6th December our seats have just been released at midnight 1st October it is 12.30am and we have just booked ours yippee. TC release them at midnight hope this helps.

Just a thought - is it 12 weeks counted back from the return date?

Our seats were only released 9 weeks prior to our flight to Barbados. I rang P&O and they told me exactly when they were available to book.

Hi my husband and I are also going on the Ventura flying out on 21st December, I contacted P&O who said the seats would be available for booking on 17th October. Let's hope we all have a wonderful time.

Don't forget if you are flying with Thomas Cook the seats will become available at midnight on 16th October we waited up for ours and got the seats that we wanted. Have a lovely Cristmas

We fly on Dec 13 and were told by the flight department that it is now exactly 9 weeks and 2 days other than if you are top tier peninsular club when it is 9 weeks and 4 days. For us this meant Monday October 7. We went on at midnight no joy. Again at 6am no joy. We went on again at 9am and could book them. It could be something to do with it being weekend why the seats were not released at midnight.

Those people traveling on Ventura 20/21st December I'm glad there are others traveling I am subscribed on the roll call and there wasn't much posting. I know the cruise is sold out so must be more people travelling.

 

I had an email from P&O saying that flights will be bookable for all those other then scandinavians is 16th October.

I booked mine at midnight and i was shocked at how many were already booked or greyed out.

Me too!! Booked our seats just after midnight and was also very tired this morning - especially as I had also stayed up until 12.30am the night before as I'd got the booking date wrong!!

 

Glad its all booked now. Counting the weeks down now......:)

We are going to The Caribbean on Azura on March 7th, our first time on P&O and have recently been informed that our seats can be booked on January 1st. How daft is that? It's the only day of the year I will not be on t'internet at the stroke of midnight. Are the folk who make these decisions real? When I phoned up I was told it was my choice whether I went out on New Years Eve or not. I am not impressed by their customer service one bit so far.

Seats on our November flight have been available for booking for a month and to date only 6 have gone.
