Rose Hall...Falmouth, Jamaica

I have been looking at jamaicaforaday.com website. We want to take the transfers from the Falmouth pier to the Hilton Rose Hall, using the day pass. Can anyone tell me where we pick up the shuttle? I am hoping it will be inside the gated area. 1 Grandma, 1 Mom and 2 kids....just concerned about safety if we have to go very far from the pier to find the shuttle. Thanks!

We booked with JFAD when we were in Ocho Rios last year and they picked you up right there at the port. There wasn't anyone around hassling you or anything and it was safe. We are using them again this December to go to Rose Hall (from Montego Bay) and I'm sure it's probably the same thing.

We went last week and they did pick us up inside the gate- we met them by the white tents and they walked us to their waiting bus.

Hi, thank you for the information. Do you know how much was the transfer and entrance to Rose Hall? Also, I assume they came pick you up at the time requested. Where they prompt? Is this an All-Inclusive resort? If so, could you use all the facilities, etc? We are going with a large group (about 14 of us), hope they can accommodate us. Any ideas are appreciated.

We went to Rose Hall Hilton in early October. We booked online through Jamaicaforaday. The fee was $94.00 per person. $15 for round-trip transportation and $79 for the resort. The information is all available on their web-site. $35 deposit per person and $59 due on arrival at the resort. [Taxi fee for four would be about $50+tip one-way. You probably could arrange a mini-bus for your group of 14 but would be difficult for less than $15 per person round-trip. The resort fee would be the same.].

I highly recommend Jamaicaforaday.

We met at the outer edge of the port facilities, under the white tents, then walked as a group to the bus in the parking lot. They were very prompt. Unfortunately there were five passengers who were lost/late and held up the departure.

The excursion was all inclusive. You have access to all facilities. Chairs/umbrella included (cabanas at extra cost). Showers/Restrooms available. Pool with swim-up bar, lazy river, three water slides. A separate main pool. Private beach area. Only five feet deep at the roped area. Open bar (non-premium drinks). Delicious mango smoothie. Beach-side outdoor restaurant and inside buffet restaurant. A third pool side restaurant was closed. Delightful DJ with reggae music, impromptu dancing.

Motorized rides/activities at additional cost.

Departure was very prompt. Don't be late. Took about 25 minutes to get back to the ship.

Well it looks like the prices for this place have now went up to $114 per adult and $74 for a child!

I'm a little upset about that. We really wanted to go there, but just can't justify that cost ($302 for us) for just a few hours (when there's a little more driving time involved than Sunset and also they leave 2 hours prior to the ship departing). So...I may just have to book Sunset. :(

:(That potentially changes our plans too. Last week it was $99 & this week the price jumped. The company that runs this website is located on Long Island (& not too far from me). I plan on calling to see what happened. I would expect the price to jump in 2014, but not in November. I can't justify spending that much so maybe it's staying on ship???

I think we may end up booking Sunset instead. The prices are just getting too ridiculous for us for the amount of time we are there. :(

Did anyone feel unsafe on the bus? I keep hearing about the crime in Mo Bay?

We have this booked but Ive considered cancelling..Any thoughts?

We felt completely safe and just returned last week from our day at Hilton Rose Hall.

I have a complete review with tons of pictures over on a thread that I'm doing on our Jewel cruise.

Here's the link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1959571&page=7

It starts at post 246. So you may have to look for it. I have my settings here on cc set to really high, so what my page 7 is for me, might be your page 15.
