mafig Posted October 2, 2013 #8 Share Posted October 2, 2013 I'm very interested in this itinerary! June would be the "safest" date hurricane-wise, but it's also the most expensive!
Trekker954 Posted October 2, 2013 #9 Share Posted October 2, 2013 love it, have wanted this for a long time, never been to Bermuda, but 10 nights is way too long for us working folks.

mafig Posted October 2, 2013 #11 Share Posted October 2, 2013 That's OK, I found it.:) I love this itinerary. How's the Vision? It's smaller, right? That's probably one of the reasons the balconies (at least in June) are so expensive. I showed it to DH and he was, of course:o, drawn to the cheapest priced itinerary. But August/Sept. would mean months of worrying about hurricanes.
bradpole Posted October 3, 2013 #12 Share Posted October 3, 2013 That's good news for souther cruisers who want to go to Bermuda but don't want to travel up north for the Bermuda cruises. The iten looks great except for one miserable port, Nassau? As if Florida cruisers haven't been to Nassua a few too many times already :-)
emmy Posted October 3, 2013 #13 Share Posted October 3, 2013 I booked the June 9 sailing this evening. I jumped at this itinerary. Loved my first visit to Bermuda this past August on Summit but wanted an RCI ship this time. The other RCI ships Grandeur and Explorer only stay 2 days so get a longer stay with Vision,:)

SherriZ366 Posted October 3, 2013 #17 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Sounds like a wonderful itinerary. Vision is getting refurbished this month with both DL & CL lounges. Chops, Izumi, Giovanni's Table, Park Cafe, Chef's Table.

Grandeur gets in around 3pm on Sunday and leaves Tuesday evening. Sunday is a bit of dead time but you are still there early enough to explore the dockyards and do a little shopping. Vision based upon the itinerary doesn't get in until 6 pm but is in during the week which is a bonus. Vision is there only a few couple of hours less than Grandeur. skiiergirl Posted October 3, 2013 #19 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Sounded great until I saw that you arrive in Bermuda at 6:30 PM so basically just in time to do dinner and nothing else. Then on day 3 you have to be back onboard at 2:30. So you really aren't getting much extra "island time". But so very glad to see RC developing new itineraries!!! Tapi Posted October 3, 2013 #20 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Oh boy. I wonder how the conservationists in Charleston are going to react. They've been on an all out war with Carnival for a few years now, claiming that cruise ships are destroying the historical district and increasing crime. It will be interesting to see if they boycott Royal Caribbean too, or if their fight is strictly against Carnival.

LMaxwell Posted October 3, 2013 #23 Share Posted October 3, 2013 10 day leaving on a Monday is a work schedule killer. I could do without the Bahamas for a more work friendly itinerary, but I am glad they are running it because to otherwise go requires flying to Baltimore or NJ currently, and Fort Lauderdale is a 30 minute drive. I will get to Bermuda one day :)

I live in Halifax Nova Scotia, the Maritimes love the cruise ships as they are great for our economy. Saw this itinery when searching for Bermuda cruises, which is still on my bucket list, it was the Charleston port that made it look more interesting for me. If Charleston is what interests you, Azamara has a cruise this December that spends three days there that you might want to check into. It's pretty reasonably priced, relatively speaking, and if you're Platinum or above, you'll get equivalent status with them.
