Century layout question

I am looking at booking a Century Alaska cruise and am trying to pick out a good cabin for us with easy access to open decks. Can someone familiar with the ship let me know, if you have a cabin towards the aft end, is there a door in the alleyway that gets you easily outside? I notice in the deck plans there are stairs outside on each deck aft, but Im not sure where these stairs go, if that makes any sense ;)

Also, are there any viewing areas forward of the ship? I was on the Mercury years ago and I know there were some great aft areas but I believe these are all cabins now, correct?

Thx for any help!!!

Best access is from DECK 12 .... Suites...go fwd & you are right out on the deck above the pool. Aft exit to view is not there anymore on this deck.

If Suites are not in your comfort zone.

Decks 10/9/8 AFT have exits on both sides to get you outside and stairs that go up to aft of the Buffet on deck 11 to the covered bar area. ( Smokers are there too )

Room near elevators banks would be next.

Hemisphere Lounge fwd same as the Old Merc.

Thank you! Exactly the info I was looking for :) hard to tell from deck plans.

We always book toward the aft, we like the outside stairs. (They go up and down ;))

LOL.... my original question was hard to word without stating the obvious ;) You're right, rear outside stairs are a thing of the past. I liked that you were able to walk down the alleyway, open a door and you were outside aft.
