Epic Cirque de Soleil question

This question is about the Epic - in the Cirque de Soleil show, are there round dining tables for the dinner show, or are there just small cocktail tables?

And do they serve a full meal, or just snacks?

The tables are regular dining tables, not coctail tables. There is a full meal served (although the menu is limited) and not just snacks.

FYI...this is NOT a Cirque de Soleil show. Cirque Dreams is part of Cirque Productions, an American company out of Pomano Beach, FL. Cirque de Soleil is a Canadian company based in Montreal. Outside of the shared use of the word "cirque", there is no connection between these two companies.

Yep, and there was a big fat copyright infringement lawsuit filed by Cirque (Canada). Amazingly Cirque Productions won. What amazes me about that is there is absolutely a large percentage of the population that thinks they are the same thing and to me...that's infringement enough. But, I'll still enjoy the show while onboard. :)

I suppose they could have called it "Circus Dreams" but that doesn't quite have the same appeal.

Here's another shot. Like in the other pic, you can see the tables on the floor. You can also get a small peek at the balcony area. Seats ring the entire performance floor on the second level too.

We paid for premium seating and did not get them their excuse was that we got to be seated too late. Not sure how that happened we were in line for over 45 mins prior to the doors opening. I can say the show is just ok so don't waste your money on upgrading there is plenty of good entertainment on the Epic that is free. We are going to be sailing the Epic this March so I for sure won't pay for premium seating this time and will take whatever we get.

I'm not sure what they consider premium seating anymore. In 2010, premium seating were the downstairs tables surrounding the main performance floor. Upstairs tables and downstairs ones further away were considered regular. We loved the upstairs seating, but I think that might be considered premium now. To be honest, I wouldn't pay more for premium. I think you get a decent view from wherever you are

We paid extra for the "premium" seats for Cirque show on the Epic but really, I wouldn't bother.

I think SDMike's idea of the upper level seating is correct. The people we spoke with after the show were very pleased with those seats.

And as far as the dinner goes, it was mediocre at best, nothing to rave about.

Are you REQUIRED to purchase the dinner or can you simply purchase tickets to the show? If you're not required to purchase the dinner, what is the price difference in just purchasing the tickets? I'm planning on reserving tickets soon so would appreciate clarification on this please.

Thanks..Keith

Hello Keith!

Unfortunately it is a dinner show, so we have to buy both the shiw and the dinner as a package. From the forum here I read that the show is good. The dinner, however, gets mixed views. I guess food is a very subjective matter :p

Enjoy your cruise!

We have seen the show twice since they changed the theme so two different shows. Sat upstairs with a good view. Only thing was you missed a little of the performance as they come out from below you but not enough to say go for the premium seats. Meal is nothing to write home about so don't get your expectation up. A very good show for a small venue.

I haven't heard anything good about the food. LOL. You'd think NCL would take a hint. Can I bring a to go box from the MDR. LOL

We did enjoy the meal.

I think it is worth seeing at least once. We took our son when he was 12. You would pay a lot more in Vegas. I thought the food and service were very good. I have a seafood and shellfish allergy and the server went out of her way to make sure that there wouldn't be any cross contamination. Instead of the shrimp, they gave me additional pieces of filet mignon.

Here is a menu that single cruiser has posted previously. There is also a vegetarian dish (pasta).

No, but seriously, if the food is not to your liking, just have a cocktail, enjoy the show, leave the meal uneaten, and then dine where you like afterward.
