Lunch in the Garden District

There are many places to eat in the Garden District on a budget.

I have ate at Cafe Freret in 2006 about 6 months after Katrina and it was great then, should be even better now that the city has returned more toward normal.

Voodoo's BBQ was good, and the price is easily affordable.

Sushi Brothers was OK for sushi, it was a little more expensive than most.

And if you are wanting ice cream, the Creole Creamery is excellent, but they only take cash, so make sure you are ready when you go there.

Not quite Garden District, but close. La Thai is what I would call Creole Asian--redfish, salmon, sea bass, crab cakes, soft shell crab entrees. It is consistently excellent, and I highly recommend it. It is located on Prytania, probably in the high 4000s.

When you say "reasonable" what is reasonable to you? $10 entress? $20 entrees?

Do you want alcohol with lunch?

Will you be travelling as a large party? (not all can accomodate)

Picky Eaters?

Do you want typical lunch type? (sandwiches, pizza, soups)

Are you looking to try different ethnic foods?

Will you have a car or are you looking to stay walking distance to the street car line?

What day of the week?

My pick while not exactly the Garden District it is further up the street car line is Pascal's Manale. They are closed on Sunday and not open for lunch on Saturday so it may not fit your needs, since we don't know much about your schedule/tastes/budget.
