MDR table size

Recommended Posts

DH and I usually book late dining, table for 6 and this has worked out well for most cruises. We usually meet wonderful dining companions and look forward to dinner with them on our cruise. On our last cruise, we were at a table for 6 but with only one other couple and that couple only showed up on the first night. So, here's my question. Should we have told the dinner room manager that we would like to have others join us? Or just enjoy the extra space for the 2 of us? The waiters and wine steward gave us great service.

If you wanted to have dinner with others then I would have spoken to the dining room manager and asked for either others to join your table or to be moved to a different table. I had the same thing happen to me on a cruise; table for 8 and there were only two of us and we spoke to the Dining Room Manager asking for some company and the next night we had it. In fact we are cruising with one of those couples in February.
