Voyager of the Seas - some questions from a first timer

Recommended Posts
Since I am on deck 7 my check in time will be 2.30pm. For those who have been on the Voyager, how strict are they with the check in times? I was thinking of getting there a couple of hours earlier.
They're very strict on check-in times. However if you or if you're travelling with someone in a wheelchair/or with a walker, there is a dedicated wheelchair entry near the terminal doors. There is also a dedicated wheelchair check-in desk upstairs. There's no specific check-in time for those who are using these facilities.

Priority checkin is also given to others with mental & physical disability. Call them prior to arrange priority boarding

Thanks, I didnt know this, it will be a great help. My hubby has a back injury and needs a stick to walk, and finds it very uncomfortable to stand for any length of time, or to sit in certain positions for that matter. Does he need to show any sort of paperwork to qualify for this service?
Since I'm a first timer too we have decided to book all our excursions through the ship.

Auckland - doing our own thing. Going stright to a 2 degrees shop to get my SIM card then We will be going to the Sky Tower and then walking around the city

Tauranga - ship excursion TR45 Rotorua Thermal Outing & Blue Bath Tea

Napier - ship excursion. NR80 Hawkes Bay Express Tour $61.50/$51.00. I checked this on the tour website and they normally charge $50 so for $61.50 through the ship I thought the price was alright.

Wellington - Ships excursion. WL43 Zealandia Sanctuary & Cable Car Experience

I am on deck 7 balcony just at the end of the hump.
I have not decided on any excursions yet, but really want to see the thermal activity at Rotorua. there are a couple of excursions that I am looking at, the one U are doing being one of them. I will be greatly interested to hear all about it when U return, I was also looking at the jetboat one that went on to Hells Gates and the one that took in the Maori village and then the thermal area, sorry I cant remember the exact names and numbers at the moment. If any of your fellow cruisers give U feedback from either of those I would also be interested to hear.

We called royal Caribbean and explained our reason for needing priority boarding (hubby broken back & needs wheel chair assistance and a 4 year old with autism) they confirmed that we could have priority boarding. It does not hurt to ask. Hubby physically can't stand in a queue & the 4 year old mentally won't stand in a queue. We would all have had a melt down by the time we got on the ship.

Thanks, it cant hurt to give them a call, would make the start of our cruise a lot more comfortable, and probably lead to less stress for me and more comfort for my hubby for the following few days, so he can enjoy the cruise more.

No dont need any special paperwork. And no you dont need to call RC prior. Just go to the Special needs area near the entry to the terminal and you'll be let in to the area just inside and then when it's time to go upstairs, they take us up.
