mini suite... bathrobes?

I can't seem to find this answer anywhere.. my brother and SIL's family will be in a Breakaway mini suite in November. I realize that the mini suite really isn't a suite at all when you start talking "perks" but are there robes in the minis?

As far as I can tell, their mini suite is nearly identical to our aft balcony... except that they have a bigger bathroom and I have a bigger balcony. Makes me wonder why they refer to the mini as a "suite" at all if there aren't any real suite perks?

Yes the mini suites have bath robes, but you sometimes have to ask the room steward for them if they haven't been replaced in the quick turn around room cleaning. I think I remember they were lighter (waffle weave type) bathrobes than the terry robes you get in the full suites.

Yes! Definitely not the same quality as the suite robes, but adequate.

There is nothing "sweet" in a mini suite. A little bigger cabin and a bathtub.

Not all minisuites on newest ships have tubs, only family ones AFAIK - the minisuite always having a tub is true at least on Dawn class and Jewel class ships (I haven't been on older NCL ships than that).

I sailed in a minisuite on the Breakaway and there were NOT robes in my cabin.

I've also been on a balcony cabin on the Sky and an aft balcony on the Epic and those didn't have robes either.

and this is why i was so surprised.. i've been pouring over the reviews and haven't seen any mention whatsoever about bathrobes in the minis, let alone in balcony cabins.

a robe certainly won't make or break my cruise.. i'm just excited that i'll FINALLY be on the Breakaway 3 weeks from TODAY!!!

Just got off the Breakaway. Found 1 robe in closet the first day and 2 days later 2 more appeared. I was disapppointed in the size of the mini suite. We had one on the Gem and It was wonderful. Will never pay for a upgrade to a mini on the Breakaway again. Much rather have a bigger balcony.

We had robes and slippers in our mini-suite. Seems to be hit or miss as to stocking supplies. Maybe it depends on the steward? I didn't care, really, but the slippers were comfy...

I agree -- we are in a balcony cabin on the Sun very soon and I will ask for a robe -- DH won't want one but I get cold sometimes in the cabin and love the robe for early a.m. and late p.m. on the balcony, too. I could bring my own but packing super light does NOT allow for a robe.

We have lots of RCI cruises in our past and got robes in a balcony cabin as a result. DH never wore his. Yes, not placing robes in every cabin (for those eligible) would definitely save on laundering as they would probably have to launder them if they've been sitting in a cabin for the duration of a cruise, just in case...

I don't even mind paying for the use of one for a week if my NCL cruise 'status' doesn't warrant one --it would be worth a few bucks to me to have the use of it.

I think the robes are now like ice water at restaurants. You have to ask. Probably saves on laundering.
