Isis2 Posted October 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2013 Can anyone give me the low down on this ship as thinking of cruising with her in May 2014. What is the ship like, what are the obstructive views fromthe caqbins like. What are the drinks prices like. What is the food like. Sorry never cruised with Princess Line before. philv Posted October 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2013 Ruby and sister ships in class are wonderful ships. My favorite spot is balcony on Lido deck. If you want to save a little money the obstructed view cabins all the way forward on Lido deck are cool. My brother loves them for the value but also location convenient to all the things he likes, steam room, spa pool, Horizon Court, etc. I love the continuous promenade and Piazza as well as the fitness center and other stuff on Lido. You will love your cruise on this ship.
kayelbee Posted October 15, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2013 Have had cabin Emerald 632 on the Ruby which is shown as a Fully Obstructed View. Well I can tell you there is no obstruction forward whatsoever. The 'obstruction' is probably due to the fact that you can see the bottom of a walkway above you and, bearing in mind you are on the 8th floor, below you is a walkway for the 7th floor where only staff have access. There were some staff walking around here in the morning (just one or two) so be aware of throwing open the net curtain without checking because staff on the walkway could see up to someone standing at the window but would not be able to see into the room. Regarding drinks, cocktails were around the $8 plus 15% service charge. I liked the Ruby but my one 'complaint' is the Cafe Caribe was only open on sea days and one previous cruises I have liked the Cafe Caribe as a mid way alternative to the buffet and dining room. I am sure you will like the Ruby.
