Crown Loft Balconies

We have 2 Crown Loft Suites booked for March 2014 on Oasis. They are side by side and are 1734 and 1736. Have any of you had the balcony deviders opened on Oasis in this type of situation? I know they do open, just will the Captain allow it?

[We were in this suite on the Allure, and at no time would any dividers be opened.

I haven't been in a CL suite on Oasis, but on my last 2 Oasis cruises both boardwalk and oceanview balconies were able to be opened upon request. It would be a shame if the dividers between CL suites couldn't be opened.

If they can be opened I would have a hard time imagining them saying no to people who are spending that kind of money. I doubt that many crazy partying college kids are buying those suites.

Yes they do, our room steward did it when cleaning them. All it takes is the tool (or an Allen wrench of the right size).

You know me;). Lisa, Owen and I are in one room and I have my in-laws in the other. In one way it would be good for Owen to go see them by the balcony, but in a bad way they can come to our room the same way.

We were on Oasis last month and had CL suites 1702 and 1704. It took our room steward a few days, but he finally got the balcony divider open.

 

One thing I noticed, on our last sea day it was quite windy outside heading back to Fort Lauderdale. So very late Thursday night into Friday morning I kept hearing an annoying banging sound which seemed to be coming from above?!?

 

Come to find out it was the open balcony divider banging against itself! I tried to put a pool towel between the two sections but the wind was too strong to leave it in place. Other than that it was great to have it open!

Many thanks for that piece of info as well. If it gets that windy perhaps a deck chair propped on each side of it would stop that from happening. We are aft facing so hopefully that won't be a concern for the heavy winds.

March 8 is our date. We arrive the night before in FLL and are staying at the Embassy Suites. Who knows if you arrive a few days early, but perhaps our pathes will cross. Sorry about crushing your dream;). The RLS is still available if you want to swap cruises.:D

 

We actually arrive in Florida on the Monday and are going to Disney until the Friday morning. We then drive down to FLL. One of the best parts is the in-laws have no idea about Disney and neither does our son. All three of them have not been there. We are going to surprise them on the Sunday just before we drive across the border into the states on the way to the Detroit airport. If we had our way they wouldn't know until we arrived at the Contemporary Resort, but we started to invision problems at the US border with Customs.

 

 

Customs Agent: "Where are you going?"

In-laws: "To Sarasota."

Us: "To Disney."

Customs Agent: (Awkard Silence) Follow by "please pull over to the search area."

 

 

I set of rubber gloves and multiple questions later we are cleared to go. They actually think we are going to see my mom in Sarasota at her condo for a few days. I just said it was cheaper to fly to Orlando than Sarasota. They bought it, hook, line and sinker. They also don't know that they are staying in a CLS. They think they are in a central park balcony with us across the hall in an OS. They won't realize that surprise until we board the ship.:D

 

I love surprises and obviously my in-laws too.

Awesome plan. I love surprising the family also but it usually happens on Christmas morning. To this Italian boy family is everything.

 

Our cruise finishes on March 9. I imagine that on the evening of March 8 there must be a period of time when Oasis and Allure are not too far away from each other. I'll toast you with a drink.:)

Well if you are looking at 2015 we have already booked Allure for March 8. I figure we shall meet one day.:)
