this is our first cruise and we have some questions about this spot as well:

1. is this an actual beach (i.e. waves and all)?

2. is this the stereotypical Caribbean beach experience (white sand and vibrant turquoise waters)?

3. if not, where can we find this experience?

we are coming in on the Carnival Fantasy next week.

thanks for any guidance you can give.

This is an inner harbour, most beaches in Nassau do not have waves unless there is a weather front. Then it becomes dangerous. If you want more of an open beach, the Sheraton would be a better fit.

Yes, but its' a small private beach.. about 200 feet long.. it is not your typical walking beach..

If you want a long walking beach with amenities (food, drinks, pools, chairs, lifeguards and restrooms .. the sheraton at cable beach would be a good place at $30pp.

If you want a free beach, Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island would fit the bill. But you have to rent a chair, and there are no amenities, no restrooms, no lifeguards, no food etc. It's a public beach with tons of local vendors selling everything from hairbraids and bracelets to t shirts and weed.

thanks for your feedback. seems as though you rule these forums! :)

we also have never been on a cruise or to the bahamas. so, we are hesitant to venture too far away since we will have absolutely no idea about the area.

bottom line, we want to kick back and relax on a beach sleeping and reading the day away. we want the most simple and direct way from the boat to the beach...worry and hassle free.
