CruiserByHeart Posted October 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2013 ...and not the country this time :D Being Danish (from Denmark, not the pastry :p) we have different Christmas traditions compared to the US. This year we've decided to take a cruise over the holidays and do Christmas in Modern Luxury. We will be on the Celebrity Reflection to the Caribbean on December 21st. It seems as if the specialty restaurants are closed on December 24 and 25, which are both port days. But then again these might be the days we would really like to treat our selves to the extras of a specialty restaurant. Any thoughts on why we cannot prebook for the dates? Also, will the MDR serve a traditional turkey dinner with stuffing and all the trimmings? Thanks for your thoughts and inputs.

Been on many cruises on those dates and the Specialty Restaurants were never closed. Reservations might be difficult since many people might like to dine in one of them. Don't know why you can't pre book, but it might be a computer problem on Celebrity's end. They do the Turkey dinner on the American Thanksgiving. Don't recall for the dates you mentioned. They do serve Turkey on one of their regular menus in the MDR.
Rare Azulann Posted October 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2013 We were on the Century last Christmas holidays. Only one specialty restaruant, Murano's. Tried to prebook for Christmans Eve, Christmas Day or NYEve. Web site said no available reservations. One member in our party called Captain's Club. Was told that they keep some times open to be booked on the ship. The day we boarded, went to reserve Murano's. Got 8pm for Christmas Eve and 9pm for New Years Eve , a table for eight. i urge you to do the same. You have many more options of alternative dining on the Reflection. Yes, they had turkey and all the fixings on the menu in the MDR too. As one with Danish heritage we had to do without our traditional Christmas morning brunch of aebleskiver.:(

We'll keep checking and will visit the venues once onboard :) We too will have to do without our æbleskiver, but will surely enjoy them through December in Denmark ;)
