lamchops Posted October 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2013 Looking for recommendation on a nice hotel to stay at in Vancouver prior to our Alaskan cruise in August 2014. Thank you, Matt Can't go wrong with the Pan Pacific or Fairmont Waterfront but they're big bucks during cruise season.:)
Keith1010 Posted October 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2013 I like Pan Pacific. It is right there. Fairmont is nice too and it is across the street. Keith
AKman2495 Posted October 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2013 We stayed in the Pan Pacific last year. It was great (but pricy) and it is built right on the pier.
Putterdude Posted October 20, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2013 Vancouver's downtown is quite compact so all of the downtown hotels are pretty much within a mile of Canada Place. However, here is a list of many 3*+ hotels that are within 6 to 8 blocks of Canada Place and none are more than a $10 cab ride to Canada Place: The Pan Pacific (part of Canada Place) Fairmont Waterfront (across the street from Canada Place) Fairmont Pacific Rim Marriott Pinnacle Renaissance Hyatt Regency Fairmont Vancouver Tower at the Terminal City Club Coast Coal Harbour Delta Suites Metropolitan Four Seasons Rosewood Georgia Sutton Place (about 8.5 blocks) Sheraton at the Wall Centre (about 10 blocks) le Soleil The Wedgewood During the cruise season it is very hard to find a room in a good hotel for much under $200 /n but watch Hotwire and don't be afraid to bid on Priceline on a downtown hotel that is 3*+, often deals can be had in the $135 to $150 range. MommaBear55 Posted October 20, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2013 There is also a sea bus that takes you to North Vacouver and the Pinnacle at the Pier is very very nice. Lots of restaurants in easy walking distance.
Plant Posted October 21, 2013 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2013 Check out the Hampton Hotel's. We stayed in the downtown hotel and it was very nice and not too expensive. There are other Hampton's in other areas that might be better for you. http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en_US/hp/search/findhotels/results.htm?view=LIST We've always had a good stay with Hampton. Alamogirl Posted October 21, 2013 #8 Share Posted October 21, 2013 We stayed at the Empire. A friend that works from home got us a great deal, we were there end of June.
