Romeril Posted October 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2013 Hi, We have booked an aft mini suite for a September sailing that includes Glacier Bay. Would we have much better views from a corner Penthouse? We would consider changing if it is significantly better. I was reading a review where the poster stated her aft wasn't worth it for viewing and remained on top deck during this portion. Also there are 2 days of inside passage on our sailing. Thanks D. I don't know if the Penthouse view would be THAT much better then the minis, but the balcony on the corner Penthouse certainly is! They are enormous, and it's a 2 room suite. The suite perks are wonderful. Worth it to trade up if you can, just for the balcony and the perks. Being escorted off the ship in port by the concierge, avoiding those long lines is great, especially if you have an independent tour booked. We spent the whole of Glacier Bay day in our aft penthouse and the views were wonderful. Some do like to be up on deck so they can run from port to starboard depending on what they want to look at, but we did not feel like we missed anything. The inside passage was my favorite part of the whole trip. Views from the aft are amazing.
Cruise_More_Often Posted October 23, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2013 We had the penthouse suite on the opposite side from punkincc, and we, too, spent the entire day on our aft balcony. We thought our views were fantastic. We kept the TV on so we could listen to the presentation by the park ranger. I agree with punkincc about the location. I think you'll see plenty from your aft minisuite, but if you can swing it, your cruise experience will be superior if you are in a penthouse suite.
