B2B on the Jewel

Recommended Posts

Has anyone done a B2B on the Jewel recently? I am wondering how the turn around day is being handled? I am considering a private excursion that day to Portland (6 to 7 hours) . If we choose to do that rather than stay on the ship what time would we be able to disembark? Would the joys of staying onboard that day overide the experience of visiting a part of Puerto Rico we haven't seen before? The ship sails at 8:30 PM. Muster at 8.

If they give you your new SeaPass cards the night before turnaround day, you can disembark in the self-disembark group.

Yes. That is one of the things I would like to know about the recent sailings on the Jewel out of San Juan. :-)

Whatever someone reports here, you should still confirm the B2B procedure once you get on board. The ship could have a different Guest Services Manager for your cruise that changes the process.

We did the b2b Sept 14-28. On turnaround day we met in the conference room behind the photo lab fairly early(can't remember exactly, but think it was around 8:30) and they gave us new cards and then escorted us through a very easy customs and we were done. We then went back on ship for awhile before going into town for the day. It was really weird walking out through the baggage area where earlier there had been thousands of bags and people. It's a big warehouse like area and it was completely empty except for a couple customs types who were very helpful in showing us how to get out to the cabs.

Just off a b2b on the Jewel this past Saturday. You get your new seapass card the day before at a meeting(ours was in the morning). If you chose to stay on board, you leave the ship as a group and punch out, show your passports to customs and punch in with your new card. A special lunch was held in the MDR for b2b people(61 of us).

If you get off, you can leave with the walk offs or anytime after that. You get an "In transit" card so you don't have to wait in line to get back on the ship. You punch out with your old card, show your passport to customs and go about your day. You return with your new card, show your passport and board by 7pm. Muster is at 8.

I just noted my auto-correct turned Ponce City to Portland. Geesh......sorry about that!
