hpecorari Posted October 24, 2013 #11 Share Posted October 24, 2013 We just got off the Sun and our first app was something that I can't remember but it was served on a spoon. There was also another dessert that was served and was some kind of chocolate/fudge cake. I have photos also but I don't know how to get them from my computer to here! hpecorari Posted October 24, 2013 #13 Share Posted October 24, 2013 Yep that's it. We had the same thing as I understand all chefs tables menu are the same. Except, like I said, our first serving was some type of app served on a spoon. Harriet
CarlsDad Posted October 24, 2013 #14 Share Posted October 24, 2013 Here it is. I'll have to check our menu to remember what it was called. Delicious though :)
flhawkeye Posted October 24, 2013 Author #15 Share Posted October 24, 2013 I remember that now. I did not take a pic and do not recall what it was, but it was not memorable as I recall. Thanks for posting that.
Hroswitha Posted October 24, 2013 #16 Share Posted October 24, 2013 Chef's table looks and sounds wonderful! Where and when does one sign up for it?
CarlsDad Posted October 24, 2013 #17 Share Posted October 24, 2013 Here it is. I'll have to check our menu to remember what it was called. Delicious though :) Here are tasting notes I had for this: The amuse-bouche embraced molecular gastronomy. The vodka and jalapeño ravioli topped with a mango sphere lead the way. The sphere instantly collapsed, and gently flavored the bite-sized hors d’oeuvre.
Cruise Mama Posted October 25, 2013 #18 Share Posted October 25, 2013 Sign-ups for the chefs table are done on board although any suite passengers have already placed their names on an "interest" list. Depending on the length of the cruise (and interest) there may be more than one night offering the chef's table. It is unforgettable! The wine pairings are wonderful - the table company incredible - it's the most entertaining 4 hours we've had on a ship.
Weeziblu Posted October 26, 2013 #19 Share Posted October 26, 2013 did you, by chance, do this on the Breakaway Bahamas sailing? If so, can you tell me what night it is offered? I scanned the recently posted Dailies and can't seem to find any mention of it. We sail NEXT WEEK and I'm anxious to figure out what day the Chef's Table is typically offered. Thanks! flhawkeye Posted October 26, 2013 Author #20 Share Posted October 26, 2013 We actually did this on the last sailing to Bermuda, October 6th. It was held Thursday night beginning at 6pm in the Haven restaurant. We had requested the dinner through our pre-concierge requests before sailing so we were signed up when we boarded and checked with the hostess at the Haven restaurant. An hour after we boarded the dinner was already wait listed.
rvsullivan Posted October 26, 2013 #21 Share Posted October 26, 2013 It is not typically listed on the dailies as it is sold out the first few hours of boarding. Only 12 people for the whole ship, posting on the dailies would only have many asking for something that is sold out. At times they make a list in case they can have a second meal, but I've never noticed one being held. The times we tried it was always on a Thursday night. $89 with taxes/gratuities. We will do it again just for the wine!!!:D
Cruise Mama Posted October 26, 2013 #22 Share Posted October 26, 2013 Exactly - but they do not determine the night until they have the "list - for instance on our last "short" cruise (5 days) there were two chefs tables. " (we were offered the option of choosing nights) Both were attended by suite passengers only. The benefit of being able to pre-book with the concierge is such a great advantage. It is always held on a sea day. We've started at either 6 or 7. We're on a 10 day next month and I'm sure there will be at least two. And the "beverages" more than recompense for the fee! (Champagne, free pour wines, after dinner drink)
medicalma'am Posted October 26, 2013 #23 Share Posted October 26, 2013 It is not always held on a sea day. On my last cruise it was after a day in Cozumel. Can suite passengers sign up for the 'interest list' before the cruise, or is that done in the suite lounge before boarding?
Cruise Mama Posted October 26, 2013 #24 Share Posted October 26, 2013 Suite passengers have access to pre-cruise concierge for all shipboard amenities and excursions.
