Manhattan cruise terminal to LGA?

For convenience and best price from the pier to the airport what is the best option taxi or car service? If a car service which one do you recommend? Two adults and two carry-on size bags. Thanks in advance!

It's six of one, half a dozen of the other. Both taxis and car services get the job done and the price is likely to be pretty similar...in the ballpark of $35 plus tolls (which can be zero if the take the 59th St. bridge) and tip.

 

A car service will quote you a fixed price, so you're not subject to a taxi meter running up the fare if you happen to get stuck in traffic. You may get a slightly nicer vehicle from a car service.

Thank you! I am hoping a car service would take a credit card so I don't need to hold on to much cash after my cruise. :)

Car services accept credit cards, but so do NY City taxis.

In the end I would use a car service if you are in a rush to get your flight.

 

Otherwise, I would use a taxi.

 

I say this because sometimes there is a queue for the taxis.

Any recommendations for a tour post cruise. We don't fly out of LGA until 4:00 P.M. and need to kill 5 about hours with 4 people and luggage. I found one on Viator but don't like the $600 price. Is there a car rental place anywhere near the port?
