Chesneygirl Posted October 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2013 We are thinking of doing a CTN on the Breakaway this January. Does anyone happen to know if I can use my Cruise Reward Certificate to put towards a 2 night CTN or does it have to be a longer cruise?

Travel Mom Posted October 28, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 28, 2013 Are you allowed to "sell" a reward on here that will expire in one year? I bought 2 for hubby and I and now I find I only need one for the both of us. I was gonna sell the $250 one for a loss of $200. If I can "transfer it" as my travel agent says is ok....I'll give my email.

If you have a Personal Cruise Consultant they should be able to handle the transfer for you. :)

Monalis Posted October 30, 2013 #10 Share Posted October 30, 2013 stupid question... If you don't use all the OBC from buying a certificate, do you lose it, or is it refunded at the end of the cruise?
peg013 Posted October 30, 2013 #11 Share Posted October 30, 2013 stupid question... If you don't use all the OBC from buying a certificate, do you lose it, or is it refunded at the end of the cruise? When you buy the certificate you are charged $250 and then credited with $100. So your account balance goes up $150........no need to spend it anywhere else. johnql Posted October 30, 2013 #12 Share Posted October 30, 2013 stupid question... If you don't use all the OBC from buying a certificate, do you lose it, or is it refunded at the end of the cruise? Not really applicable. The $100 OBC is automatically credited to your account when you purchase the FCR for $250. Your net cost will be $150. The $100 OBC is already pre-spent in a manner of speaking. If you spent nothing for the remainder of the cruise, you would owe NCL $150. Anything extra that you spend will be added to your $150 tab. The $100 OBC is really just a discount. At least that's the way I look at it.

Ed Posted October 31, 2013 #17 Share Posted October 31, 2013 I sold one on eBay. Just make sure the buyers are aware of all terms and conditions. Easy to transfer but they have to be latitudes members of course.

Easy to transfer but they have to be latitudes members of course. Actually there is no need to already be a Latitude member. I have twice now transferred to friends that have never cruised before. They assign them a Guest number when they transfer it and it becomes their Latitude number once they have cruised.
jumpjump Posted December 25, 2013 #19 Share Posted December 25, 2013 quick question: not sure if I should start a new thread: (this is wayy back in Sept-ish & cruise isn't until June) bought for going forward 1 cabin -- 3 ppl. one using the cruise reward. We're going w/ another couple.. so they book 1 cabin. Bad news, other couple, hubby passed away & they refunded their cabin. Problem -- booked outside airfare. They refunded hubby's plane ticket but not hers. so now-- can we change the 1 cabin for 3 into 2 (will they credit the difference? or can we change to another category cabin? do we need to submit a letter, etc requestion full refund... will still have 2 cabins - 2 ppl each (total 4 ppl going w/o hubby) We just want to change category or floor of the cabins. Originally, they only had the 3 ppl cabin on the 13th floor. We rather have it on lower level. (lower floor is better for her seasickness) Sorry.. just run on sentences/thoughts. will be going to travel agent thurs/friday.. no answers at the moment because it's the holidays... Thx. I have seen at least one person say that they were able to get it extended. You can also attempt to sell (transfer) it. Can't be used on less than 6 day cruise. Never heard of anyone getting extension but maybe depends on circumstances. Can be sold or transferred. rvsullivan Posted August 24, 2014 #25 Share Posted August 24, 2014 It's been reported that a short extension is possible. Maybe 30 days or so. Many people buy and sell them, usually if there is some significant time left on them you can get the $150 you spent for them. If they have very little time left it might be less valuable. Good luck.
