Cheers Package

It was absolutely worth it on the Paradise two weeks ago. Roomie and I definitely came out ahead, including on the long Cozumel port day. It depends on how much you drink, of course, as well as what you drink - it's much easier to break even (or better) on $10 Grey Goose martinis than $4 beers. But overall, I'm guessing that if you're considering the package, you probably drink enough to at least give it a shot. No pun intended. ;)

Edited: Sorry, I missed the time and place question. Cheers works from the time you purchase it until some unknown time on the last night. I was "buying" drinks up until at least 1am that last night in the disco... Every bar on the ship participates, as well as the dining rooms, Lido & Serenity drinks servers, coffee bar (boozey coffee only, not regular - weird but true) - everywhere you can buy drinks on board, except room service. Hope that helps!

I don't think anyone can tell you if its right for you. Everyone one is different. For DH and I the answer is yes for him but no for me, so we don't buy. You need to take into consideration the average you will each drink, how many ports and how long you will be off ship. If you can't drink at least 8 mixed drinks a day then the answer would probably be no.

Like Indygirl said, it depends on what you drink. I like a good wine with dinner, if I have several wine, an after dinner drink, all I need is a cocktail or two during the day to have broken even. If you are drinking Coors Light all day, mostly likely you will be better off just paying as you go. Also remember that if you hit the 15 drink limit you are cut off, you can't even pay for a drink.

Is the cheers package worth purchasing? Can you use it anywhere, anytime?

Can you tell me your experiences with the cheers pkg? Thanks 6 days and counting :)

On the Splendor the first week of October we purchased the cheers package.

My wife did not drink much and I never got much more than a little tipsy some evenings.

Average daily consumption- ,mostly cocktails and wine with dinner.

We paid $902.00 for 125 drinks total.Average cost per drink $7.00:cool:

We did it thought it was well worth it. We did 6 days on the Breeze, go to the Atrium bar as soon as you get and the fun starts. We had no problem with service. It is a fabulous program.;)

My wife and I like the program, we have used it twice so far... My wife likes it because she will try different drinks when using the program, if she was paying for each drink, she would mostly stick with beer. I like it as it saves me money as I always will have more then 8 or 9 drinks a day, and I will get a bailey's or two after dinner with the program. If I was paying indiviually I would skip the bailey's as too high priced for me, for a small drink.

Cannot find any info about it on the Carnival website. So what is the price per person per day?? I have read several different answers, anywhere from $49.00 a day to $57.49 a day.

Except in Europe, it is $49.95/day plus 15% gratuity = $57.45 per day (if my math is correct). For a 7-day cruise, that is $402 PP.

You may purchase it on Embaraktion Day 1 or Day 2 -- if you wait until Day 2, it will be $344+ PP for 6 days.

If you do a search there is a poster who purchased on Day 2, and verified her S&S card was charged $689+ for 2 people.

For some reason, the information is not on the Carnival website today -- it has been in the past, and I have read the details....?
