Transfer to Athens Airport from Port

We have booked a ship's transfer to Athens airport but we don't fly until 7pm and I understand we will be taken to the airport in the morning to sit and wait all day for our flight. Should we have arranged our own transfer and stayed on the ship as long as possible or could we have gone into the city to sightsee? Any suggestions please as we haven't had this problem before.

Not sure what cruise line you are using, but you might get a good response from that board.

In addition to checking out the Greece Ports of Call Board also see if your cruise line offers some type of post cruise excursion followed later in the day with a transfer over to the airport.

Thanks Keith. We will be on Ruby Princess and I see we will be transferred by 12 noon latest. I will check out excursions. I see there are some other companies offering this on the CC website.
