Trying to get urgent message to family onboard crown princess . Tried 1-90 0-329-7447 and 877-856-7447. First number no good, second number says it is a sales promo for retail stores. Excuse brevity, posting from phone. Trying to reach ship before Lisbon

Not sure if you're currently in the U.S. or not but here are all the numbers.. http://www.princess.com/learn/faq_answer/onboard/in_touch.jsp

I followed your link and have extracted the key information the OP will need, just to save him some time if he is still trying to reach the ship:

If calling from within the US and Canada, "For all ships in the Princess Fleet, dial 877-656-7447. Calls will be charged to a credit card in both the US and Canada. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card (not Canadian) are all accepted. The cost for each call is $8.95 USD per minute or $11.95 CAD per minute and is subject to change without notice. When calling, please include passenger name and stateroom number to ensure quick delivery."

To contact the Crown, if calling from outside the US and Canada: call XXX-870-764-597-398 where XXX is your country's International Direct Dialing (IDD) code and 870 is the global ocean code. Please contact your long distance service provider for pricing.

To the OP: good luck reaching your family.

Just in case anyone reads this for future, the land-2-ship number is dependent on satellite coverage, and as noticed may not always work. Contacting Princess directly is the next best step, but do note they are probably sending an email, that will also wait for satellite connection, so that could take a while as well.

If it is a life or death situation, Princess can contact the bridge by other channels, but that is only for SEVERE emergencies.

Princess customer service had confirmed that they sent the message to the ship; about three hours later I received a phone call from guest services aboard the ship patching me through to the party I needed to reach.

There may or may not have been a delay in the message reaching the ship due to coverage, and guest services then had to physically locate my party, but I am pleased to say that Princess customer service was efficient and cordial in handling this.

Years ago we also had an emergency back home while we were on a cruise and Princess was WONDERFUL.

The captain had us use his office to have privacy when we called back home (At their expense!)

:D

Ours worked out fine in the long run - hope yours does also!
