bearette Posted October 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 30, 2013 Good job with kids! I usually pack and then take two or three things out. I usually have too much or I have to do laundry anyway ( for longer trips.)

Demonyte Posted October 30, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2013 We always have one large piece of luggage and a carry-on for each of the two of us so if you can manage to put the kid's clothes in them too, I'd say that you're doing just fine. :) Granted that we usually pack for 2+ weeks when cruising from US (our next trip will be 3,5 weeks), but we still had the same bags with us (just a little less full packed) when doing a 9-night (8 onboard, 1 post-cruise) quickie from Venice this summer. jlacy1987 Posted October 30, 2013 #10 Share Posted October 30, 2013 On our honeymoon, my husband took his backpack and a small tote. I took a large duffle bag. Never again. That thing was so heavy it was ridiculous and I didn't even bring a lot of stuff. This time, we are both using one piece of carry-on luggage each and I'm bringing a backpack and purse. We have wheels this time.
Rare mking8288 Posted October 30, 2013 #11 Share Posted October 30, 2013 Bonus for leaving this Sunday on the Breakaway is that Daylight Savings Time end at 2 AM so you get an extra hour of sleep ... or, to pack last minute :D  Heads up if you aren't aware but I'm sure someone on the Roll Call is doing the reminder, allow extra time as it is the NYC Marathon running thru the 5 boroughs - it will not impact Manhattan's West Side where MCT Pier 88 to 90 is located, traffic won't be fun on the Upper East Side - taxi & car service drivers will be dodging them & avoiding the area. Enjoy the cruise & have fun !
