Pa. residents discount

Carnival called me with great pricing as I live in Pa. Does NCL ever do anything like this? Would love to see it!

Did Carnival tell you why people in Pennsylvania get great pricing?

Wish they did since we live up around Atlanta, Georgia and have to either fly or drive for several hours to get to a port.

Yes, I have received pricing discounts based on the state I live in. That's why NCL asks for this on their website when you book there. I have received discounts for both PA and IL in the past. I have no idea as to why they do that, but it happens. PS.. It wasn't much. Maybe $25 per person or something, if I recall. But it all helps.

The discounts offered by Carnival were LARGE, apprx 25-40%. Prices were only good Nov to early March.

I live in PA and never got a discount or saw any price difference. Ive checked and unchecked that box, just to see what happens.

I wonder what causes the discount to happen... and when.:confused:

While I have received the residency discount, most of the time it doesn't show up. It does not appear to be for all cruises. But clearly some cruises can qualify for some form of residency discounts, but not all do. I'm sure it's one of those pricing variables that makes sense to NCL but not to us simple people.

Perhaps the cruise line takes a look at their stats and finds that the numbers from let's say Arkansas are dropping and they decide to offer great deals on a limited number of cruises to former pax from Arkansas.

 

The people from Arkansas tell their friends and some of their friends come along. When they get home they tell more people what a great time they had. It could be that simple.
