Synchronaut Posted October 31, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2013 Thanks to all for all your good info. Just wondering; if you don't leave your key card in the cabin slot and you are out and about for a long time on a hot day; how warm is the cabin when you return and how long does it take for the A/C to bring the cabin back to a comfortable temperature? I would like to comply with the cruise lines efforts to conserve energy rather than leave a "dummy" card in the slot.
Rare mizLORInj Posted October 31, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2013 We didn't leave a card in the slot when we were off the ship 3 days in Bermuda. It wasn't particularly hot when we came back. The a/c is linked to the card? I thought it was only lights and electric sockets.
sailingnut Posted October 31, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2013 I did not put my card in when I was off the ship or out of the cabin~~I just opened by balcony when I came back in! I was three days in Bermuda also!:)

Was out of my room from 8am till 6 every day and room was always cook when I returned. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Forums mobile app
Synchronaut Posted November 1, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted November 1, 2013 Thanks so much. I was under the impression that all electric was connected to the key card.
MCAT48 Posted November 1, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 1, 2013 We were in an inside and the room was comfortable, the ac would shut itself off once it reach a certain temp. We kept putting it on the lowest so it was freezing in our cabin! :)
hondarr9 Posted November 1, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 1, 2013 When we first walked into our room there was a blank sea card in the slot that I assume our stateroom attendant put there. Never had to worry about it. I believe any card with a magnetic stripe will work. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
johnnypiano Posted November 1, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 1, 2013 A/C was never a problem for us on the Bermuda itinerary. When we left the room, the A/C would moderate down a few notches. But it was quite quick to cool down the room when we turned down the temperature again. Beware, though that the A/C would turn off when the balcony door was open. sailingnut Posted November 1, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 1, 2013 Thank you for that one~~that is why I never had AC~~I always had my balcony door open! I did not know that~~feeling kind of stupid!:)
Robert & Debra Posted November 1, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 1, 2013 Our room did get warm when we were not in it but to be fair it wasn't that cool when we were there either. So maybe the ac shutting off didn't matter that much.
