Two great cabins, any advice

Booking TA eastbound "S" class. Choice of 2 great hump cabins, one port side facing back of ship other starboard facing front of ship- both deck eight. Sticky has good reviews of both-- location, no noise, by stairs--all good points. Going east will one side be better than another, will the front facing balcony be to windy to sit outside even if we are away from the railing? Thank you for your advice.

If you are sailing from Fort Lauderdale I would take the port side if you want to be on your balcony at the sailaway. Always fantastic to see. On the other hand if you are crossing the Atlantic west to east if the weather is kind, you will be able to enjoy the sun on your balcony for a greater part of the voyage ,visa-versa east to west.

Enjoy your Transatlantic experience whatever you choose.

On East bound TA in the Spring starboard side will have a lot more sun and should be warmer which might be nice especially if you are on a northern route to UK or Baltic.

You didn't indicate on which decks these cabins are located but outside promenade area port side deck five midship is a smoking area which may impact cabins just above.

I'm sorry--the OP said Deck 8, and said they were booking an eastbound TA. Plain as day. The most sun will be portside.

OP, we did that cruise the last two years. Since there is absolutely nothing to see other than open ocean during your crossing, that doesn't have any impact. We have chosen portside both times and been very happy.

Only if the captain decides to back his way across the Atlantic! Going eastward, the equator - and the sun - lie to starboard. Plain as day! :D
