Meet and Greet Party Ideas

Our roll call is having a meet and greet cocktail party on the Carnival Sunshine on December 9th. We are at 75 people....the space were in can accommodate 80 people so we're almost at our limit.

We're trying to come up with a fun game to play at our party. We're having a 50/50 raffle but just trying to think of some other ideas.

Open to any and all suggestions

Hi, I have done this at many get-togethers… Christmas parties, baby showers, wedding showers, family get-togethers, etc. Everybody gets a little piece of ribbon attached to them by a safety pin. the object of the game is not to say the word, "no" or any variation, such as nope, nay, uh-uh, shake of head, etc. if you catch someone saying the word "no", you take their ribbon from them and attach it to yours. after a specified amount of time, the one with the most ribbons wins the game. The prize could be a scratch off ticket, lotto ticket, or a little trinket. This is a great game to get people that don't know each other, talking to each other. If you have any questions, just ask. Hope you enjoy the game.

Jane;)

As soon as I saw RetesGirl3....I was like that screen name looks familiar :) Yes we were on the Ecstasy last year together. We had a great meet and greet then too ;) Yes my dad and I are cruising again...were doing another back-to-back. We will be right behind you. We board the Imagination on December 2 and then the Sunshine on December 8

This might be a bit much for 80 people but it was fun. We did it with about 20 people. Everyone puts one of their shoes in a big pile. Then everyone takes a shoe (not their own) and finds who it belongs to. Then you have to tell each other 3 things about yourself. Its a nice way to connect with other people.

I am not a people person persay, working in tourism I entertain and chat with folks all day for a living, so on a cruise, I want to be alone and relax. My wife, loves folks and chatting. We decided to do a Meet & Greet over a roll-call last cruise. Unfortunatly they set it up in the Serenity Bar area...bad idea. We arrived with our 8 year old and was told within seconds to leave since we had a child ( makes perfect sense and Carnival did there job).

Just saying, if you plan a M&G, don't make this mistake for others in your roll call with kids.

we just had a meet and greet on the Breeze last month and one of our members put together a gift exchange. It was so fun. Those who signed up to participate brought a gift from their state, numbers put on the gifts and then numbers drawn. We kept the prices to $10 or less.

for our informal M&G, I set up a trivia quiz from things I learned from our roll call about each other.

For example, "what state is Almost Packed from?" or What is ______ celebrating on this cruise?

At the end, we exchanged sheets with someone and graded them. I gave out prizes at the end.

I kept saying all during our roll call they better pay attention, there could be a quiz...and sure enough there was. We had fun.
