peridot44 Posted November 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2013 What do non-alcoholic drinks cost on Princess? Specifically the Ruby, if that matters. My DH says he doesn't want the soda & more package. I need to convince him a la carte will end up costing more. Thanks.
simok99 Posted November 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2013 The non alcoholic drinks not included in the package are Buckler lager and a selection of Ariel wines, my wife is tee total and has pre purchased the package as a Mocktails is about $4 a go, and all juices etc are included. I'm not sure I understand what the OP above is talking about, because beer and wine do not enter into this at all. The sodas that are included in the package are fountain only. So if it comes out of the gun, it's yours. You cannot get cans. Each canned Coke for instance costs about $1.95 + 15%, so if your husband drinks a ton of it, the cost of the sticker may be worth it. The sticker cost is $4.50 + 15% per day. You cannot buy increments; only for the full amount of cruise days. I don't know how you're getting to the ship, but if possible you can always pick up any amount of soft drinks you desire and take them on board. There is no limit as to how much soda or water you can carry on. I take Pepsi, because I don't like Coke. peridot44 Posted November 9, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted November 9, 2013 Thank you both for your replies. Let me ask this question a different way: What does a fountain drink cost if one doesn't buy the soda -or soda and more - package? What does an orange juice cost? What does a coffee cost? I need to demonstrate to my husband that he will exceed $8.05 per day in a la carte non-alcoholic beverages.
1025cruise Posted November 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2013 OJ is free at breakfast. Coffee is free. However, it is made from a syrup. Some people don't care for the way it tastes. There is an International Cafe on the Ruby that will sell "coffee drinks" and "brewed coffee" for a cost. I think the coffee might be $2.00 a cup, the specialty drinks maybe $4 or $5. I have no issue with the coffee provided, and I don't do specialty coffee, so I'm not sure of the prices. Other included beverages are water (not bottled), iced tea, and lemonade. Vexorg Posted November 9, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2013 To be honest, if he's only having 1 or 2 mocktails or sodas a day, it's unlikely that he will be spending more than the cost of the soda package. If I recall, most mocktails run somewhere around $2.95 each, and I think sodas are about $1.95. And coffee (syrup based stuff, can't say more since I'm not a coffee drinker) is free at the buffet, and is not included in the UKP (there's a separate coffee card for other coffee beverages at the International Cafe.) Coffee prices range from $1.25 to $3.75, depending on what you order. The fresh brewed is $1.25 regular and $1.75 large.
