Recommended Posts

The Southampton Port Schedule has now been updated and it now includes Quantum on it -

Quantum (RCCL)

30 October 2014 Arriving TBC - Departing TBC at City

Quantum (RCCL)

31 October 2014 Arriving TBC - Departing TBC at City

Quantum (RCCL)

02 November 2014 Arriving TBC - Departing TBC at City

So it looks like perhaps Quantum will arrive early at Southampton...perhaps for Media/VIPs/Travel agents ?

Perhaps they will do a 1n sailing for Joe Public which NCL Getaway did recently ....and which was very popular and I suspect a good revenue generator for them (given the British capacity to drink...)!:)

I think they will use Quantum's visit to Soton as a marketing tool for Anthem and show her off to TAs etc in preparation for Anthem's first season starting just 6 months later.

Well spotted Elizanessie!

Let's not forget that our tiny island is the second biggest cruise market in the world!

And we still don't know anything about the dining options, many public rooms or the Royal Prom's replacement.

Nice find. Not going to lie, I spent a while trying to figure out where she was departing from. Not used to seeing TBC instead of TBD so I thought that was a location in the city. It wasn't until I remembered that we left from the City Cruise Terminal last year on Independence that I got it.

Never understood how they handle 1 and 2 night media sailings, why do some get more and others less. Seems like all would get the same unless there is logic behind it.

I've just looked at the link, but Quantum's not there. Am I looking in the wrong place or has it been removed? I do seem to recall someone on one of the cruise / holiday channels mentioned Quantum on 31st Oct at Southampton. I looked on the VTS website then and couldn't find it. I do hope Quantum is coming to Southampton. I'm on Anthem in 2015 and would like a sneak preview, if only of the outside!

:)

It was removed.

There is a two nighter pre-inaugural for media,VIPs and Travel agents on 31st October so I am guessing she will pull into Southampton for the first time, early that day.

VTS schedule now showing -

Arrives 30th at 10am at berth 102 then seems to move that afternoon to 101 which is the City terminal, the usual RCI one and the one that oasis was on last week.

Then sails at 5pm on the 31st returning on the 2nd in the morning no time yet.

Then departs for NYC at 5pm on the 2nd.

As it falls on a weekend trying to work about where best to view from, does anyone know if there are fireworks or such like?

Gillian.
