SarahAirport Posted February 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2014 Hello, For the 123 offer we selected the free classic beverage package. I wanted to upgrade to the premium package but my travel agent told me it is not possible to do it for only one person in the stateroom. She told me both guests in the same stateroom must have the same package. Is this true? My travel agent has made some mistakes in the past so that's why I want to double check here. Thanks! hawkers Posted February 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2014 I think there is a mistake as I recently upgraded my husbands package but not my own. We did this through Celebrity but our booking was direct with them. Maybe ask your travel agent again. RickT Posted February 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2014 Or try doing it yourself. I don't believe that you have to do this via the TA, it's sort of like a spa booking or restaurant booking. Give them a call, worst thing they can say is you have to call your TA. When the voice prompt asks if you are using a TA, skip that one and go to where you want to deal with your own booking. roohound Posted February 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2014 That's a Carnival thing - not Celebrity. I think your TA is confused. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
AlbertaCruisers Posted February 10, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2014 It used to be true when 123 Go first came out (i.e. the rule was both had to upgrade), but even then people were able to upgrade just one person if they waited to do it onboard. Since then they have changed that and people have been able to upgrade just one person. As someone else said, call the cruise enhancement line and you can upgrade yourself and just try to upgrade 1 person. If they tell you you can't you can try calling again and getting a different person as I know people have been successful in upgrading just one person. miched Posted February 10, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2014 Try the classic for a day or so. If you feel you it doesn't offer what you need one person can upgrade to the premium for hre remaining days for $10 plus 15% for the gratuity for $11.50/ day. 🚢🌅🍻🍸
jkgourmet Posted February 10, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2014 We did the upgrade for me but not my husband on our Dec 2013 cruise. Frankly, it was unnecessary. The classic package was perfectly great for our needs. I'd also wonder why you keep an agent who makes mistakes repeatedly.
ricflyer Posted February 10, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 10, 2014 I upgraded this weekend and they asked if I wanted both or just one. I did not call my TA, call Celebrity direct at the number for spa and specialty restaurants reservations.
Gordoncruickshank Posted February 10, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 10, 2014 We have done it both ways, using Celebrity direct or going via the TA. All the TA does is call Celebrity.
SarahAirport Posted February 10, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted February 10, 2014 Thanks everyone! I will call Celebrity as soon as I find a phone number that's not only for US and Canada only.
roohound Posted February 11, 2014 #11 Share Posted February 11, 2014 I would like to amend my previous comment :). I talked to my TA today and she said if I wanted to upgrade beforehand, both of us in the cabin would have to upgrade. If we wait until we're on board then only one of us can choose to upgrade. I learn something new every day!

Highly Sociable Posted February 11, 2014 #14 Share Posted February 11, 2014 I have booked a trip on Infinity for 6 adults and we have all received the free classic package. I wanted to upgrade a couple of us to premium, but my TA said that he had been told by Celebrity that their computer systems would not allow this and I would have to do it onboard. That seems contrary to what other people have written on this board. Is my TA just being lazy? Or is the system different in the UK to he USA?It's the same TA that I have used for all my cruises, but I must say that the person I spoke to this time did not always seem to know what he was talking about. stellarose Posted February 11, 2014 #15 Share Posted February 11, 2014 We used 123 and upgraded. It was worth it. No questions if a a drink is covered or extra charge if you have classic and drink is premium. On summitt it was worth it. If you have questions, let me know. roohound Posted February 11, 2014 #16 Share Posted February 11, 2014 So can I upgrade myself through Celebrity ahead of time and just bypass my TA? Will they allow that or is this something I have to go through my TA for? In which case I'm back to waiting until I get onboard. Johnny Heedless Posted February 11, 2014 #22 Share Posted February 11, 2014 Not a problem to do, call Enhancement Dept at 800-722-4941. There's a slight problem with your number (it's some sort of strange spam numbers). Here's the correct number: 1-800-722-5941, option
