Penny Press Machines

This may sound like a dumb question to some, but my son loves to collect

the pennies that you press. Anywhere we go and he sees one he has to do

them. He asked if they had them on the cruise ship. Does anyone know

if Royal Caribbean have these machines on them? We are sailing on the

Freedom of the seas next year, but wanted to know about any of the other

cruise ships.

Hello, I have been on a few NCL ships and I have never seen them on the ships. I do find some machines at the ports though, and have some from my trips, so keep your eyes peeled when you're passing a souvinere shop. I try to remember to carry the change with me, so that I don't have to bug my friends. They are getting used to me though, and now they even point the machiens out to me, LOL. Hope that helped. we already have a HUGE collection of them and it will be fun to add to it with other countries, not just states we have visited!!

I have done 10 RCCL cruises now and they do not have those machines. Hope this helps.

I made my "Squished penneys" into a charm bracelet....they were a little long to be comfortable and so now I have converted it into a necklace and it always stirs up a conversation when I wear it!:p

You can always scrapbook them as an embellishment in your scrapbook :)

What a great link - thank you! My daughters collect the "smashed pennies." We are going on a trip to the midwest in June and then an Alaska cruise in August, and I'll be sure to print the appropriate pages off and be on the lookout for the machines. Also, what a great idea to use these in scrapbooks!

In case no one here knows this the USPO sells little collecter books for squished pennies. We purchased one and it is great.

 

We were quite surprised when we were at the Maui Ocean Center and found not only pennny machines but one for squished quarters! That could get expensive (g).

I checked out the website and while there weren't any machines located for our upcoming Asia trip, I noticed that next year's trip to Scotland will reveal a wealth of squished pennies for our pet sitter. My question - do they squish pennies or something else in foreign countries? It doesn't really matter, but it just got me thinkin - and you know how dangerous that could be.

We used a squished penny machine in Toronto, Canada last summer. What we got was a squished U.S. penny. :eek: :rolleyes:

Would you believe that in the Ming Tomb outside of Beijing, we found four squished penny machines? My friend will freak when she sees what we brought back. for the record, you bought tokens and used them as they don't have 'pennies' per se in Yuen. It was too cool.
