Loves Snorkeling Posted March 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2014 How does it work when making a reservation for a specialty restaurant on RCI's web site? Do they charge your credit card at that point or does the charge only occurs after you dine at the restaurant? I'm just wandering what happens if our plans change. I'm assuming that it is better to make the reservation in advance instead of when we are on the ship. Can you tell me what the current cover charge is? Thanks Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

The cost is $35 per person. If your plans change, you have to cancel (and wait for a CC refund) and rebook. Alternatively, if you visit the restaurant as soon as you board, you will likely be able to make your desired reservations. SRV FAN Posted March 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Yes, your credit card is charged immediately when you book on the website. If you change your mind once on board, you have to go to the restaurant to cancel. We did that while on Navigator & when we got home realized they didn't credit our card for the cancellation...I called RC Customer Service & they credited my credit card. If you are CERTAIN you want to have dinner in the restaurant, then go for it..otherwise I'd wait til I got on board & just go (immediately) to the restaurant & get your reservation. They don't charge your card until you actually have a meal there if done that way. Cover charge for Chops is $35 per person. Loves Snorkeling Posted March 2, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Thanks for the information. I wouldn't mind trying this restaurant but I will have to convince my wife. She believes it's not worth spending extra money when the ship has free food already available. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
Rare Lionesss Posted March 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2014 When we booked our upcoming July Allure of the Seas sailing, we were elligible for two free dinners at Chops. We have gotten that before and have found out we can only reserve a spot when we board, we are not ellilgible to book before we cruise. No Problem. When we board we immediately go and book when we want. Sea Ya
