gr1634 Posted March 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2014 Received an "upgrade" notice from Princess for the Crown Princess today. Moves us from R209 to B423. Looked at deck plan and rooms appear to be same size, as does the balcony. Anyone know why that would be considered an "upgrade" other than the fact it moves from forward to mid-ship??? CruisingJs Posted March 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2014 They think it's an upgrade because mid-ship cabins are more expensive. To me, it's just a move. I'm sure you'll have a great time anyway.

Colo Cruiser Posted March 5, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2014 Yes upgrade based on location only. The cabins are the same.
paul929207 Posted March 5, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2014 The newer cabin is a higher category because it is viewed as being a "better" location
Pia1913 Posted March 5, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) Baja is better than Riviera. To me it's a great upgrade. And you have moved from far forward to mid. Also better. Edited March 5, 2014 by Pia1913
Whimsy Posted March 6, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2014 I would be much happier with the mid ship Baja cabin than the forward Riviera cabin. Sent from my iPad using Cruise Critic Forums mobile app
DrivesLikeMario Posted March 6, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 6, 2014 I agree - good upgrade. Location is much better. Cabin is still the same though but it's much better to be there instead.

4x4bob Posted March 7, 2014 #11 Share Posted March 7, 2014 The Up Grade Fairy just sent my Niece a notice that she had received a up grade on the Regal Princess. From interior to a Balcony. Lucky her. Bob
