Spring Break in Texas: Review of Navigator of the Seas March 9, 2014

Recommended Posts

FYI, I am the person who started the thread about changing menus in GT and Chops on NOS. The GT menu displayed in the DL was the new menu without filet or lamb, BUT the menu being served in GT was the old menu which included both. This was two weeks ago. You should check the actual GT menu to see what is being served this week. Sabor is surprisingly very good. The red snapper is delish!

Sounds like we use the same online TA maybe...starts with a C and has six letters.

CruCon ? They're "allowed" here I think.

Sabor's is getting some good reviews, not regular TexMex by any means.

I didn't know it was only good up to $60!

They have always had that in parentheses on the dining amenity. It just hasn't been an issue of having to pay a bit of the total until a month ago when the menu changed.

Have a great cruise!! This week we go to work, not our spring break yet, and live vicariously through you!

But Chops did have an upcharge for the big T-bone, right?

Wonder if they changed the aft structure of the ship to put the Flowrider on. The back of the ship just doesn't look like Navigator or other Voyager class ships?

GRRR, never mind, that's the back of the Carnival ship.

Luggage is dropped off, so that wasn't too bad. Now we are in some long line just to get into te building. Makes me yearn for Port Everglades and their suite door to skip the lines.

It's chilly out here!!!!

Our driver went off to the official lot to park...so we'll see how long that takes.

Well, Buc-ees is getting mixed review from us. It is an enormous truck stop, although not the biggest I've seen. However, it is very clean! They have a fabulous deli selection and great snack choices.

I did buy some Beaver Nuggets that I'll eat later onboard and a t-shirt.

Unfortunately, we went to order some breakfast croissants. During our 15 minute wait we asked a couple times about our order and she assured us it was coming. Well, after 15 minutes we see her go to the kitchen. Apparently they skipped our order (which we kind of guessed when they called 910 and we were 909). So we ended up at Jack in the Box for breakfast :(

It's worth a stop though...go in hungry!!

So that was a 30+ minute detour and I think we're still more than 2 hours away. No more stops!!

Some quick pics from Buc-ees.

Oops coming right up...

Dd and dw love Buccees but I find it turns a quick potty break into a long stop. It's clean and they offer a nice variety of eats...do like when a box of fudge finds it's way home...but also like kolahes out of Winkels in LaGrange.

Hope y'all have a fun cruise.

Thanks Rancher!

Whiz - we are in an owners suite.

Rooms are open and we are in! Nice fruit platter waiting for us.

Looks like this ship is using the automated coupon system, that will be a first for us.

Room looks great...the balcony is huge (we are right on the hump). We'll be like kids in a candy store in this room as our previous cruises are usually junior suites.

I'll also post a more detailed review of the day later on :)

Seaofwonder, I few things I would like to know.

Did you bring water on board? Wondering how that is working, whether to carry it or check it.

Can you post the order of the main dining room menus? Trying to figure out what night to

do chops.

What kind of shuffle machines do they have in the casino for black jack?

How dressy was everyone on the formal nights?

Thank-you

I hope you'll be posting photos of your Owner's Suite during your cruise! We'll be in 1314 when we go in May! Our first! :D

O M G those are the BEST kolaches ever. I haven't had them in a few years; since my son moved back home from Austin.

Gambler - will do! We didn't carry water on though, sorry :( We did bring a bunch of snacks on with no problems.

Whiz - great suggestions!

Early observation - they did not replace the wood furniture in the rooms, but the couch looks new.

Ditto on the MDR menus for each night, except we're trying to plan for GT.

Just make a picture of the coupon page on your phone and you'll have it with you. Have a great afternoon. Thanks for doing this.

That wouldn't work for us. Part of our vacation is shutting our phones off and not turning them on again till we get off the ship a week later. We tell our bosses that there are no antennas out in the middle of the ocean. :D
