Echo, Echo, Echo while in port

Recommended Posts

We were on the Oasis last week and heard "Echo, Echo, Echo" over the loud speakers while we were in port in Jamaica. It was repeated several times with no location given.

I thought the Echo call was for a possible collision or some possible damage to the ship. The water and skies were clear and calm so I am not sure what the call was for.

There is another thread that mentions that a death occurred on our trip and the body was taken off in Jamaica, could this be it?

They called an Echo when we were on Monarch once. We had just tied up at PC and apparently one of the lines snapped. It was due to high winds since there was a tropical storm moving through.

In your case it sounds like it may have been a drill.
