Yup there are lines, yup there are additionl costs, yup there are rude people, yup, yup, yup.

However most people here are not advertizers.

We are real people with real world experience. I have traveled most of the islands many many times and Carnival is a Great WAY TO GO.

Sorry you had a bad experience.

I agree with you perrys100!

Oh and by the way....I'm a little creeped out because your avatar picture looks EXACTLY like my DH and me....I not kidding is eerie....

It's always amazing to me how 2 different people on the same cruise can have a totally different experience. Did anyone notice that someone else just posted a review for what I think was the same cruise and had a wonderful time. I'm not certain that it was the same cruise but the OP on this thread said she just returned and the OP on the other review was on the cruise that just returned.

As far as Disney's lines go, haven't you heard? There is now a separate line for hotel guests and another line for park guests. It's a lot better then it ever used to be and moves along quite efficiently, I was there last year.

Uhh...there is no separate line for hotel guests at Disney World. There is Fastpass, but that is open to any park guest. There is a program when hotel guests can enter a selected park an hour early or stay after official closing time each day, but that is the only hotle exclusive perk that Disney offeres it's resort guests. I hate people spreading misinformation about Disney. It only serves to ruin someone else's trip.

First of all, I never wrote that I expected casinos to be free. I stated the extra costs, often times, hidden costs of a cruise which some people may not be aware of. I listed all I could think of, casinos being one of them, for those who didn't know.

Ah, yes, because *most* casinos are free, therefore most people would expect this one to be free, as well. I'll have to remember that the next time I go to Ceasar's Palace.

It seems all the "experts" chimed in to knock it however. I know you didn't write that but I'm responding to those who didn't read my post and decided to derive what they wanted out of it. I'm talking about EXTRA costs that basically make up the bulk of your fun and saying to expect to pay them because I didn't think there would be so many. I NEVER stated I didn't expect any, I stated I never expected as many as there were. Why don't some of you READ?

Sweetheart, I just have to say, "Amen" to this. Why didn't *you* read? Someone as obviously smart, savvy and up on things is admitting to going into an expensive situation completely blind? Come now, I know that we lesser mortals have limited intellects, but please, don't ruin the moment by admitting that you didn't do your homework.

No, there was no note on the water bottle. Yeah, I checked the TV for my bills, I'm not stupid. Some people at my table who cruised 5x however, were not aware they were being charged. I suppose you'll call them stupid too. Oh well...

Ah, yes, I remember sitting at the dinner table, talking about the free bottle of designer water. Could it possibly be that your tablemates were simply tired of listening to a litany of fault-finding and actually had a good snicker to themselves about the obnoxious boor who thought that his premium water was complimentary?

As for the travel agent thing, read the posts, one person said I should have went to them. That's where I 'got it' from. I also said Pete SOUNDED like a travel agent or worked for carnival, I never said he was one. How the hell would I know?

Perhaps MrPeteLI merely *wishes* he worked *at* a carnival? I can just see him with a whip and a chair. ;)

One thing I do agree with you on, is many of the people were rude and they were the guests, not the staff. One little girl, about I'd say 8, closed the door on the elevator and gave my son the finger so he couldn't get on it. I imagine some of you would find that hilarious too. I think it's indicative of the caliber of people I saw in general. Pushy, shovy, disrespectful, greedy and outright belligerent. Pretty much like some of you here.

Heavens ... please do not tell me that you found a rude person on a ship of nearly 3,000?! Trapped like rats on a ship with someone of your sterling character? My heart goes out to you.

And judging by what I see here, I'm not surprised in the least. Most of you are rude. One would think you owned stock in carnival the way you refuse to allow anyone with an opinion other then your own.

Oh, no, your opinion is being allowed. In fact, many people are having a wonderful laugh, thanks to you. Thank you so very much! Your generosity is only outweighed by your compassion.

I can handle the wait lines. What I don't appreciate is such overbooking of a ship just to make a buck that degenerates the quality of the vacation. If you want to subjugate yourselves to that type of vacation, have fun. I don't think it was necessary. If I ever do cruise again, I will pay the money to avoid such nonsense and grief. I think spending $8k is better then spending $4k and getting nothing but aggravation, period. It wasn't the money. It was getting aggravation for money and that was my point, not what some of you twisted it to say.

I certainly do hope that you give cruising another try. However, please be sure to post what ship you decide on, and when, so we can make appropriate plans.

I would comment, but this has been addressed, and in doing so I would have to reference a recent visit with my mother-in-law, which would cost me thousands in therapy bills.

Oh and I found the abuse sites regarding Matre'D's, labor, the whole nine yards, including this site, while trying to find what type of illnesses I should have expected on that ship since all of us are still recovering from "something" we're not quite sure of. One of them being, http://www.cruisejunkie.com/ - go educate yourself instead of telling me the same?

During that research, google somehow chose this site and I stopped here to describe my experience of what I didn't know before I went. And no, it's never fully described on anything you'll read because I doubt any advertiser would actually tell you it all no matter what some of you say here.

How magnanimous of you to choose to spread the joy and pleasure of your experience all over the internet. One doesn't even have to get dressed in the morning to bestow pearls of wisdom such as yours.

The more I read about this cruise nonsense, including the labor shop fiasco of it, the more I'm not impressed. But go ahead and continue to support it if that's what you're into. It's a free country but I won't see you there. I like CLEAN and pleasant people and things to be around.

Yes, they do say that opposites attract, don't they?

You can continue ripping apart my words with further insults in defense of your pro-cruise stance, but honestly, I'm not gonna come back to read them. I have better things to do with my time. Thank you.

Oh, no, thank *you*! We haven't had such fun and camraderie since the last time the elevator door jammed and the air conditioning went out and the power went down, all at the same time, for sixteen hours straight! You have a lovely day, now.

P.S. - My sister-in-law admitted it was her worse cruise out of 6 cruises thus far. Enough said.

Oh, I must disagree! Enough said?! Why, this means that you won't be back to trade witty repartee with! How shall I wait out the remaining four days until *my* cruise out of NYC on the Legend? Gosh, I hope I get *your* service staff!

Taking random antibiotics does not cause viruses to mutate. This practice does, however, contribute to the serious problem of antibiotic resistant bacterial organisms, and you are right to point out the folly of taking antibiotics prescribed for a former diagnosed bacterial infection for an illness of unknown cause at a later date. This is basically playing doctor, which is among other things, potentially harmful. I can't imagine taking old antibiotics for something if I "had no idea what I had contracted."

As much as people hate paying for the physician's services aboard ship, if a passenger feels this ill, a visit to a licensed physician is in order. If after visiting said doctor, the patient feels no confidence in his competence, the patient is not required to follow his advice. But self prescription of antibiotics is not the answer. Just MHO.

YA i am not sure how exactly it worked i just know taking a half bottle of antibiotics is a bad thing. :) us fireguys aren't the smartest on the block. that is why Fire instruction books have more pictures then words.

A couple of thoughts-

We went to Disneyworld last summer for 1 week and the final cost was $6000 for people. While we had one of our best trips ever to DW, I believe crusining is less expensive.

Your initial post implies to me you have issues with you sister-in-law. Sounds like you went on this cruise with a negative mind set to begin with, possibly related to issues with your sister-in-law.

I think you are right, cruising is not for you. From the attitude in your posts, I'm surprised you can enjoy yourself anywhere as you sound like a complainer by nature. You could have stated your complaints in a much more objective manner that may have given you more credence. Your tone and manner in your posts have totally discredited you.

I rarely, if ever, say anything negative about anyone but this one just stuck in my craw. I'll worry about feeling guilty about my response later!

I still say this cruise was "all-inclusive" like the TA said. You only need to add the automated tip to the one time ticket price you paid. You can eat, sleep, be entertained and drink free filtered ice water until you blow up and it won't cost you another dime. I could go on a cruise with $20 in my pocket and bring back $15.

The fact that Carnival and most other cruise lines offer you extras for a fee seems totally in line with most any other vacation packages. It's nice to know these things are offered for a fee. You can still gain weight with all the food that you did pay for and that's a lot. Unlimited pizza, hamburgers, lobster tails, escargo, room service menu, ice cream, tea, coffee, water, etc. And a lot of that is 24 hours a day. Try finding that at Disney World for free. There is lots of entertainment to choose from. Don't like one, go to another or sip free champaign while looking at people being ripped off while buying art work. No says you have to buy a bingo card.

Actually my best free entertainment on a cruise is looking at first time cruisers. I bet you would be real entertaining to see you in action on the Legend. Laughs a million!

You and your family choose to do those extra things and it cost you. Big deal.

No Prob.

It may or may not be the same poster but the complaints sound very familiar and so does name.

Most of the others posts got banned but it was along the same lines.

I can't say I'm surprised by it. Some people just gotta complain, complain, complain. And some get their jollies by stiring the pot.

Gee, when I was reading the original poster's post, I was thinking that he/she was some miserable rep from another cruise line (or Disneyworld). Then, as I was reading his/her susequent posts, I was thinking it was just some jerk who doesn't like to cruise. Now I think it is just a case of him/her being a miserable jerk, period.

I'm sorry but I am still hung up on the one phrase that we either work for the cruise line or profit somehow.

Does anyone find that as fustrating as me????

Most people I meet on the boards I end up cruising with and become very good friends of mine. I have yet to find one working for the cruise line.........unless they are UNDERCOVER:D

Darn! My cover is blown! Sorry Renee! Will you still be my friend??? Oh by the way - Debbie, Dawn, Heather, Fred, Barbara, and all our other Philly cruising friends are undercover TA's!

Actually, it is someone who is BORED and has nothing else better to do and loves to see everyone get all worked up! I find it amusing! :D
