We look forward to another great live report Radio.

I look forward to reading your daily reviews because we were just on Splendor 3 weeks ago. Our sailing was wonderful, with the exception of the blizzard we sailed into on our last night.

On a side note, I tuned in to watch the sailway on the NY Harbor cam was was surprised to see it was not manned to follow Splendor past the Varrazano Bridge.

Have a great time!

Can you tell me what you are going to do in Port Canaveral??

I can't seem to find much information on that port on these forums on what do to there.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Hello everyone. . . I am onboard and we have sailed away ! I left the hotel in Elizabeth , NJ this morning promptly at 11AM. My “girlfriend”, google dot com suggested that the transit would take 30 minutes. Google was right again. There was absolutely no traffic until I got to 12th Avenue. (6 blocks from the pier.) I pulled my car up to the third level where I had to submit to bomb sniffing dogs. I have sailed from Manhattan several times, and the bomb sniffing only takes a few moments. I paid for parking on Pier 92 and was directed to park at Pier 90 where Carnival Splendor was docked.

I tipped the porter for my luggage and went down the escalator and I was happy to see that Carnival Splendor had just started boarding. It took no time for me to get through security. I was told to go directly to the VIP area (Platinum) and I was on the ship very quickly.

The muster drill was scheduled at 3:45, but it actually started at 4 and finished at 4:20. It was amazing that the sun came out just as we started to pull away from the pier slowly. I am kind of shocked that, as technologically advanced as Carnival Cruise Lines is, they still use clickers to count passengers who show up for muster. I would have thought that they would scan your room keys like their much smaller adversary does.

Manhattan was beautiful during Sailaway and we whisked past the Statue of Liberty and we were under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge soon after, and were out to sea. We dropped off the pilot at 6:30, just before we were in open waters.

We have a long way to go to Port Canaveral as we are not scheduled to arrive until 7AM on Saturday morning. Here are a few pics from my arrival to Carnival Splendor and Sailaway.

Thanks for all the very nice comments and thanks for tuning in. More pics tomorrow.

Always love reading about your experiences...

I am especially interested in this one as a friend of mine cruised the Splendor and now she hates Carnival.

I personally LOVE every ship so long as it keeps a float. Have a GREAT time!!!! :D

Hello everyone . . . Welcome to DAY 2 of “LIVE” from Carnival Splendor. I woke up very early this morning, but I slept like a

baby last night.

I was expecting to see a few passengers up early like me, but I saw no one . . . It was nice that many of the public areas on board

were lit up for cleaning.

The temps were still very cold and I expect to be cold until later tomorrow when we are sailing off the coast of Florida.

There are so many activities today including Trivia, Cooking Demos, Ice Carving, Slot Tournaments, and many others. . .

I will scan and post the Fun Times when I return. I also am looking forward to the first Formal Night tonight.

Captain Donato, and our CD, Eric Brouman will be around the ship tonight for photo opportunities during the Captains Celebrations.

Spectacular Theater will host the Fiesta Latina show tonight. I will like to attend this show. . .I have heard it was very good.

We are currently about 500nm from Port Canaveral but the seas are very calm. The current temperature is around 54F, with partly cloudy skies.

The sun is trying hard to come through.

Here are a few pics form this morning. . .More pics later.
