cruiselover87 Posted April 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2014 I will be traveling on the MSC Divina April 19-26th It says the ship will arrive at the port by 7AM on the 26th, my flight is out of Ft. Lauderdale at 12:25 PM. What is the earliest they start letting people off of the ship and can I make this flight or is it too early?

They start doing self debarkation between 7-8am. I could have made a 9:30am flight as I got to the FLL airport quickly my flight was at 10:50am. Also you didn't say how you were going to the airport. I suggest one of the shuttle companies and not ship transfers. Its about $15pp for the shared shuttles. Edited April 15, 2014 by Bosjoe
cruiseguyinorl Posted April 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2014 A ship transfer is not an option as they will not provide transfers for departures before 1:00 PM out of FLL (Noon for MIA). Bret
cruiselover87 Posted April 16, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted April 16, 2014 I am actually renting a car from the hertz near the port of Miami, I am driving back and dropping some people off at the ft. Lauderdale airport for the 1225 flight. I'm also wondering if I can relax and eat some breakfast and just walk off the ship around 10? Are most people off the ship by then? You do not want to wait till 10. The Hertz Shuttle runs every 30mins, then how long you have to wait in line as people pick up their cars. Then you have to drop off the car. Then checkin and security 30mins and up, the airport will be busy as multiple ships are in port. You want to be at the airport no later then
hkto Posted April 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 17, 2014 To OP; making the 12:25 flight shouldn't be a problem. However our disembarkation (we left around 10am) took close to 1 hr. If one chooses to accept the assigned time slot (which is determined by cabin #s) then people first go to the designated gathering spot; then wait in line to get to baggage carousels, collect luggage & go through passport control. Otherwise there is self assist where people can go between 7 & 8. Breakfast is served from 6am. As far as transportation to FLL goes there are lots of shuttle & bus drivers soliciting business in the port so getting a ride shouldn't be a problem. gogans1 Posted April 17, 2014 #10 Share Posted April 17, 2014 Hkto have you been on divina I'm tring to find someone to answer some questions about dress code and how it compares to carnival and Ncl
hkto Posted April 17, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 17, 2014 Dress code is just a suggestion; there is no dress code police. There are 2 gala nights; some people dress up (tuxedos, cocktail dresses) & some don't. I think NCL encourages casual dress code & MSC not really enforcing. gogans1 Posted April 17, 2014 #12 Share Posted April 17, 2014 My wife and I have been on 7 cruises and are not the kind that like to have to constantly change outfits to get entry into certain areas. We are not slobs by any means just like the option to go casual to shows and bars and late night activities. Don't mind at all putting in a little effort to go to the dinning room that's should be expected. I'm just reading that at night jeans, t shirts, shorts, flip flops, and hats, are prohibited. If I'm walking outside on a deck after dinner in kaki shorts and a t shirt, with sandals on or playing cards in the casino are they gonna tell me to please go change. That's what we are scarred of. Typhoon1 Posted April 17, 2014 #13 Share Posted April 17, 2014 Self disembarkation begins in groups at approximately 7:15. That should be followed by two more groups. 12:15 won't be a problem.
