My Wife...

My Wife loves everything Disney but we don't have kids. She is thinking about taking a Disney cruise and I was wondering if there will be enough adult things to do on Board. We usually sail Holland America and love the laid back style of cruising.

DH and I don't have any children and love cruising Disney! We've done 5 so far and have a 6th booked for December.

Disney has a lot of adult only activities and is known for keeping their adult only areas free of kids.

Serenity Bay (the adult only beach on Castaway Cay) is wonderful and far from the crowds that fill the family beach.

If you love Disney then I think you will love a Disney cruise!

If you want to really know what it is like on Disney (before going) I suggest:

Get the free Disney Cruise planning DVD or VHS video

Get a copy of the Passporter guide to Disney Cruise Lines (order on-line at: http://www.bestwebbuys.com/books/compare/isbn/1587710161/isrc/b-home-search) or check your local bookstore. It's a very fair review of DCL.

you could also check out castawayclub.com. They have been over 30 times and I don't think they have children either. They have a lot of information relating to the ship, experience, ports, etc.

Let me tell you about our experiences.
We are a mid 50s couple with no at home children.
We have sailed on the Magic 4 times. 2 were 3 day cruises before the Wonder came along and we have done an Eastern and Western cruise.
On the 2 - 3 day cruises we had inside cabins.
On the 2 - 7 day cruises we had Cat. 6 veranda.
That said, this is what we think.
We love it. DCL does an outstanding job of keeping adults, families and kids seperated into their repective groups. The adult entertainment at night is good fun. If you opt for the late seating you will probably see very few children. We have always had other couples sitting with us that were without children as well.
The adults only area at Castaway Cay is what we hope our little piece of heaven looks like. Not a child in sight, hammocks and beach chairs on a white sand beach and waiters wanting to bring me a conch cooler. Oh yeah.
Best time for adults without children to go would be mid May or late Sept. or early Oct.. Prices are lover and the water is warm.
We are heading to Alaska two weeks from today with Princess (our first non DCL cruise)and I am anxious to see if they can treat us as well as Mickey and Co. did.
Go for it.
