Bon voyage and safe travels.

Do we know if anyone is doing a blog for this RTW?

One of my golfing mates from down here, 'Big Terry O' , is on the Dawn Princess WC, doing the Sydney to New York bit. Bon Voyage to all.

I fear the buffet will damage Terry extensively.

Just looked up the itinerary and this world cruise has a great return journey from London.

Wouldn't be too keen on 8 sea days from Brisbane to Singapore though, as there are so many interesting ports in between.

I would think that there would be at least a few. Is there any site that tells us that sort of info?

Thankyou to all for good wishes. We have had a very active Roll which is a good sign for great company. A few are already making their way to Sydney, I'm off tomorrow, and there are already a couple on board from Auckland.

It should be an interesting cruise, even missing Egypt, with a few private tours organised as well. Can't promise my blog will be to the standard of Socram, always a good read, but I will try.

Regards

Pat T.

Have a wonderful time Pat. From the Roll Call it looks like you are in for a very active cruise.

We watched Dawn Princess sail past our piece of the coast last night. She looked glorious as it was a clear sky , a full moon and she sparkled on a glistening silver sea.

It is nicer to have that broken in half with a port in PNG perhaps. It is ok for the end of a cruise though.:D

Have a wonderful time. This was my first taste of cruising 3 years ago. Same ship and same cruise except I only did the first half to Dover. But it got me hooked on cruising. Feel I did things backwards though..........long cruise first :)

I was checking the Roll Call and someone posted that the 2 day , overnight stop in Yangoon (Rangoon) , Myanmar(Burma) has been cancelled and replaced by a couple of stops in Malaysia. Wonder why? ..

In Brisbane today embarking Queenslanders.

I think its great the way its organised now...they offer Auckland to Auckland, Sydney to Sydney and Brisbane to Brisbane......something for everyone and no flying .

Next chance to get off the ship , ...Singapore .:D

Yes, these type itineraries are excellent for those you hate to or cannot fly. The age demographic on board must be fairly high you would think, to be able to both have the time and afford a cruise like this.:D

I don't think it would as high as you may imagine. While certainly not aimed at teeny boppers , the passengers would want to be in an age group where they are not reliant on regular doctors visits or specialised medication. You would need to be fairly fit and active to undertake such a long cruise.

Thanks Kiwi Kruzer for doing up this thread, I love following things like this, this would be my dream one day!

And I am one of those who absolutely hates flying, NZ is my limit! (although I have been to Europe 20 years ago..)

Yes, medical issues would rule a few out bringing down the very old outllying individuals and creatng a lower mean.:D

Are the natives restless in Yangoon ? Hence the itinerary change.
