Windmills and Tall Ships, August 2015

Recommended Posts

After reading some chat on the generic "New brochure" thread, we decided to sign up for this journey. I believe others here have as well.

One oddity among the *very short* list of tours is a motorbike trip on the Isle of Man. This must be a mistake, since the ship goes nowhere near there on this trip!!

We're also looking at the daytrip from Kristiansand to Lillesand, which has a fairly steep price, and wonder if anyone has looked into alternate arrangement. I found one service where you can rent a boat for a day trip (5 hours) for a little over $500, so if we could get a group together that might be a cheaper way. Anybody finding other options?

We are also on this trip along with my 2 sisters and their husbands and two, other set of friends. Just back from Pacific Crossing and Tahiti, just coming up for air will start researching soon. Sounds like a great cruise. Susanne

My TA called WS this morning, and while no one can explain the appearance of the Isle of Man Excursion they were able to confirm that the tours for the voyage aren't yet fully planned and to check more toward January. I did notice that there is a "no charge" tour you need to book for the Tall Ships, which we did, but it makes no sense as the description is no more than that you sail in with the tall ships and have lunch on deck, all of which is part of the general description of the cruise itself.

I spoke to the captain of the captains on the 1st Tahiti cruise a week ago. He is the one that explores new ports, makes all arrangements for the ships, coordinates with the harbor pilots etc. He is the one that has organized the WS in the parade, the lunch, free tickets to get on the other ships etc. is all part of the cruise. I think WS is just now building that part of the website. I would not worry, their first cruise in Tahiti, with all the complications they had was flawless. We have one year and 3 months to plan and dream. Happy Cruising Susanne
