Thanks so much. We really enjoyed spending time with you folks and enjoyed "Iris, the magic cane" Never had trouble finding out where you were - just looked for the twinkling lights. Thanks for sharing Charles. Hope we can meet up again sometime as you folks are great traveling buddies. Kimmi sends her love as well. Enjoy your Transatlantic and let us know how it went.

Hi Kim, Roger, Marilyn, et al,

Ditto, we loved meeting all of you! It was a great trip and like Roni, I doubt we'll pursue any compensation b/c it was really fine overall. The staff just couldn't be better. Those folks are so hard working and subservient that I always want to tip them beyond what is possible. Like you, Kim, I try to give them a smile and greeting and look them in the eye to let them know they are not part of the furniture.

Kim, as for the salad dressing (re the other board)--most were really swimming in the dressing, which I failed to mention WAS delicious! I was not complaining--merely adding to the info about the "salad dressing incident." My waitress-friend does a comedy routine about the (mostly) women who order salad (or sauce) on the side (and then often dump the whole amount on the dish). I try not to do that...it just seems less polite somehow...plus those waiters are working hard enough already. The swimming salads were delicious!

Kim, sounds from your review that you did a lot more onboard than we did. We liked the Dazzles DJ and the trivia contests (yes, very hard--none of our best categories! We won once.) We don't do shows or bingo or casino but found plenty to entertain us! Esp. dancing...

Of course, being old folks, we usually left the disco at about midnight when the music changed from familiar to not. The teens poured in and we escaped. On the last night we stayed a while. The attractive young adults who entered the area were people we'd never seen before. DJ Patrick danced very skillfully with a lovely lady. We deduced that the new crowd consisted of the entertainers (whom we'd never seen, not going to shows.) It then made sense why Patrick told us that he usually left the disco about 3AM! This was when the crew had time to play! They were lovely!

Let us know about the crossings, Roger (and if you get your CC tshirt!)

It was a great pleasure to meet you and daughter on our way to the pier. We also thoroughly enjoyed our vacation, and although we were looking forward to visiting Sitka, in the end it did not seem important. We found the Captain and all of the crew just outstandingly friendly, efficient and fun too. We could hear the engine noise but after the first night it didn't bother us. We did not book our shore excursions until we boarded the ship and were very pleased with all 4 of them. We enjoyed the food, especially the "Cooking Light" recipes. We went to almost all of the shows and many of the other attractions and loved it all. We especially enjoyed lounging in Lucky's listening to Margie and Sam - our kind of music!

Couple of questions - what were the final port times? I get a different answers when I ask my TA or NCL. It would be helpful to know BEFORE sailing if at all possible.

Also about Lucky's - you mention it kind of like it is a lounge yet I thought it was a soup and sandwich place. Is it opened all day and have food at night as well? Did you ever eat there - I was wondering how the food was.

Thanks

Chloe

Lucky's is a lounge but soup and sandwiches are served there at lunchtime. The hours are posted in a Dream thread somewhere here, but it is something like 11:30 or 12 until 2 or thereabouts. We never ate there on our May cruise, so cannot comment.

Great review! Thanks for taking the time to write it. I'll be on 9/1 also (Hi, Seashellt) and am really looking forward to the Dream. Good to see another cruiser with a satisfying experience.

Kathy, try a search using 'cruiseclues norwegian dream' and you should get a whole page of links, many with photos. Also, check shipcafe - Steve says he took photos of Dream in Seattle which he will be posting eventually. Search using '360 degree ship tours' should produce a page with virtual tours of many ships, including Dream.

Caliboy,

Thank you! Both of those searches produced great web sites with lots of information. I really appreciate your help!

Kathy Q - glad you enjoyed the links - if you can stand looking at more shipphotos, I just found that Steve at shipcafe.net has posted his long anticipated review of N. Dream. Excellent, as all the others. Enjoy.
