valandemmy Posted June 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2014 We just booked a 5 day out of Port Canaveral, going to Nassau, HMC (YEAH) and Freeport. We have been to all of these before and enjoy them overall. We are however, new to the LIBERTY. This will be the biggest and newest ship we have ever been on, having only been on Fantasy class ships in the past. We can walk onto a Fantasy class ship and know our way around without any problem what so ever....It is kind of exciting going on a class I have never been on before. ..but what do I need to know before we go? Hints, Tips, Secrets?
RobertL88 Posted June 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2014 One thing that's good to know is that you can't walk from all the way fwd to the aft on decks 3 and 4, because the galley would be in the way. To reach the aft (or fwd) go to deck 5. One other thing that comes to mind is that there is always enough seating available in the Lido Restaurant on the second level of the restaurant. Just take the stairs up one level from the sweets/cakes station.
RobertL88 Posted June 3, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2014 On the Valor they had a Fish&Chips place over there, so my guess would be every Conquest class ship has some sort of restaurant/buffet over there, but I'm not sure for the Liberty. TerReuv Posted June 3, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 3, 2014 We are planning on the Liberty for the fall of 2015 and yes they have the Fish & Chips on the upper level of the lido buffet. It is really good and usually no line at all. I believe that the Liberty still has the Mongolian Wok also.
martinhughes1 Posted June 3, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2014 Nice ship, but we sailed on the Freedom a year ago and it was a much cleaner and nicer ship even though in the same class of ships. Better than Fantasy class ships. Conquest class is nice too. Not as clean as I would have liked and seen on other Carnival ships. Fish and Chips located upstairs from Lido buffet. Guys Burgers and Burito bar near main pool. Main dining room selection is not tha same as it used to be on Carnival. Chocolate melting cake was under cooked about every night I tried it. Main course selection great first night with the brisket. No steak and lobster as a dish. No Mahi Mahi at all. They had Salmon and Bass almost every night. Be sure to wash your hands and use the hand sanitizer.
valandemmy Posted June 4, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted June 4, 2014 Ahh...can't wait. Very excited about Guy's. Is the burrito bar included in the price...or is that extra? Also, I read that Liberty has a Steak House. Is it difficult to get in or should I try to reserve it now?

DH and I have been on five cruises so far and four of them have been Conquest class (Freedom, Liberty, Glory and Conquest). We are going back on the Freedom for her repo! RWolver672 Posted June 5, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 5, 2014 What a lot of people don't realize is that there are two buffet areas. If you go through the first one, there is another one behind that one that few people go to, especially for breakfast.
olcar Posted June 5, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 5, 2014 All the way forward on decks 6, 7 and 10 has "secret" area
CaribbeanLuver Posted June 5, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 5, 2014 The burrito place makes breakfast burritos. We didn't realize until about the 3rd day that they serve breakfast and they are DELICIOUS!:D
wantocruisemore Posted June 5, 2014 #11 Share Posted June 5, 2014 The Blue iguana cantina also serves hueveros rancheros and arepas in the morning. They are great! The hot chocolate on lido is the best I've ever tried. Alchemy bar is wonderful. Do the martini tasting and the martini class is fun. Comedy club is great but get there early to get a seat. The fish and chips on level above lido are delicious! Loved the Liberty, just on her a couple of weeks ago. Wish I was back.
jacmo24 Posted June 9, 2014 #12 Share Posted June 9, 2014 Not much to add but that we love the Conquest class. Love the 'double' buffet area. Lots of people don't realize there is a second line towards the aft. Our trip on a very full Valor never had lines at the buffet because of it. It does take getting used to not being able to walk thru on 3/4. We got confused getting to our dining room the first two tries. Enjoy!
Freedom2014 Posted June 9, 2014 #13 Share Posted June 9, 2014 It was good. Just make sure your cabin is not below the kitchen. Lol
SkyMaster Posted June 9, 2014 #14 Share Posted June 9, 2014 Just returned from a FANTASTIC voyage aboard "Liberty". Shows are truly excellent, pre 2.0, and with a ten piece band, eight female dancers, four male dancers, and really good shows. Music Boardwalk is playing at the casino bandstand most every night, and they too, are really, really good. Comedy shows are excellent as well, and overall, the ship, crew, and entertainment are second to none. You're gonna have a great cruise aboard the Fun Ship "Liberty". Same for the Freedom, been on her twice so far. Great place to eat on embarkation day, no crowds.
thesanders08 Posted June 10, 2014 #16 Share Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) I loved the Liberty!! Great Ship! You will have a blast! =) The Steak house was great. So make sure to go there one evening. My husband and I had a blast at the Piano Bar. We spent a good bit of time there. If you want to hang out in the Serenity area make sure to get there pretty earlier. It does fill up pretty fast.
